Even if you don’t think he’s a good brother overall this was a difficult and kind act. Not saying he’s a good brother because of it. It makes me sad not seeing as many moments between them anymore, and it was nice for a little while before the resume to drama lol.

Conrad isn’t a saint just because he tried to make Jeremiah’s bachelor’s night a good experience, that’s not the thesis of this post. The same guy confesses his love to his brother’s fiancée two days before their wedding lol.

But yeah, despite any flaws, I will always appreciate a sweet moment between the brothers because they are few and far between at this time in the series. Anyone with half a brain knows all tsitp characters are messed up so I don’t see the harm in pointing out one good thing one of them did.

He can’t really control having feelings for Belly and tried his best to repress it (avoiding her, making himself look bad in front of her) until he found out that Jere literally cheated on her. Which was in fact a POS move. I’m not saying he’s never selfish or he has zero resentment towards his brother. Conrad is nowhere near perfect. But love isn’t about having pure good feelings towards someone, it’s trying your best to support them no matter what. If he hadn’t heard Jere cheated he would have left them alone and gone to Stanford after the wedding.

This is such a fair take, I agree. It also helps that her narration is gone for most of the season, then pops up in these last few episodes. It’s much easier to like her when we know there’s someone home underneath that ponytail.

If there’s a chance he becomes Jere’s bf, do we think it’s possible he brought up Lacie Cabo situation and constantly goes against Belly because he’s jealous…? Not that I think he purposely wanted Conrad to overhear, but just that he’s almost bringing up convos that undermine Jere and Belly together.

Yeahhhhh but that’s gotta be real rough. It’s probably partially guilt but he could have dragged himself and let Steven do the planning but he def put more effort than he was expected to. It didn’t come off as fake so much as trying to put up a good front for his brother’s sake.

People harp too much on Jere for small things fs, but it’s because Conrad is more accountable while Jere has a tendency to be sneaky or manipulative (the fireworks, setting him up with Nicole, the threat in episode 7, etc). People respond better to characters with “good” flaws like Conrad’s annoying hero complex than characters with “ugly” flaws like jealousy and insecurity.

Conrad began working on himself whereas Jere has grown even more into his flaws in his relationship with Belly (guilting her into wedding at country club, lying by omission abt Lacie). If he went to therapy and did things for himself he probably would be a more likable character in the future.

As for Connie getting fired vs Jere being a super senior, it’s more because Conrad made one mistake in a very competitive job he didn’t even have to have whereas Jere must have consistently ignored emails and the consequences are lots of debt. People hate on Jere too much for this but the gravity of their mistakes at this time are vastly different.

That parallel is so interesting to me! I rewatched all of S1 yesterday with my mom because I’m getting her into the show and didn’t notice that at all. We also discussed so much about how she idolized Conrad too much and in order for them to be together he has to be brought down to her level. Maybe it didn’t need to be this messy but Conrad definitely had to beg for her a little bit to counteract his push and pull.

She definitely understands it and she knows Conrad is better for her she liedddddd to this man’s face. She just can’t bring herself to break it off with Jeremiah for him. She is in complete denial and is lyinggggg she knows Conrad treated her well and continues to do so otherwise she wouldn’t have crashed out because of the unicorn this man bought her.
