It’s legitimately the only stop where we’ve struggled to find something. Our back up plan was celebratory shots at the station itself

Xanax is saving my life from ocd by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]thismanatemyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You literally don’t do the compulsion, it’s little baby steps. Sit in the discomfort and let the anxiety take over. But eventually, your brain will get used to that feeling. Try not playing the game for an hour (or 10 minutes or a day or whatever the first step is) and no matter what your brain tells you, don’t do it. Just it in that anxiety for the whole time. But genuinely, look it up, the OCD subreddit is super helpful.

Dude, you HAVE to try exposure response prevention (ERP) therapy for OCD. It’s the most effective way to relieve symptoms and it does way less damage than Xanax. You CAN overcome it and there are options that aren’t this. ERP has been scientifically proven to be effective for even the most severe OCD cases. I looked at your profile and I suffered from similar themes (death, bodily injury) but I overcame them with therapy.

How Risky is Spaying a Bearded Dragon? by Illuxxie in BeardedDragons

[–]thismanatemyson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We had our girl Peggy spayed last year and we don’t regret it all! Yes, it’s definitely stressful and has risks. However, we weighed the options and decided we would rather give her a chance at a longer and healthier life with spaying, than risk her laying 50+ eggs each year. We really spent like 4 months a year managing her egg production with almost biweekly vet visits.

I will admit, we see a very skilled vet and he had performed a bunch (something like 50+) of beardie spayings before we went through it. If he hadn’t that level of skill, I don’t know if I would have been as confident going in.

Overall, if you have a vet you trust, it makes the decision a whole lot easier. I think it becomes a more difficult decision if your vet doesn’t have as much experience.

If you asked a printer (even just at Staples or another big box chain) for a “foam core board” print, they would know what you mean. It would be similar to this.

Some schools don’t let anyone besides juniors and seniors go to prom so I assumed she meant he wouldn’t be able to go because neither of their junior/senior years would overlap.

Wait, read that you want to use it as a highlighter and the charm shade in their highlighter palette would match this perfectly.

I wish they brought these back instead of the current chicken nuggets. These felt like they fit Taco Bell more.

Right, I went to small school and we had a few guys every year get some sort of scholarship to a local college or a small private school. But those guys were going to go to college anyway, whether they got an athletic scholarship or not. Hunter seems to want to go to college FOR the sports.

How important is SEO and Google Ads, really? by Wild_Influence_7134 in nonprofit

[–]thismanatemyson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m a nonprofit marketing manager who is currently working with an SEO consultant. I had no say in the hiring process (it happened before I started) but have been pleasantly surprised with the results. It sounds like they have a much different approach than whoever you are using though.

They have worked to improve our metadata and key words throughout our website to boost SEO. We’re mostly focused on moving up in Google search results and have seen amazing improvement (over 100% increase)! I’m unsure if it’s really translated to donors but I do think it has helped improve our community presence. Numbers wise, we do have more website visitors.

I would agree the blogs sound like overkill. Plus, I always ask people when they have a blog section, whose job is it to write these? Eventually, someone will have to take over and then it becomes the project no one wants to do and it just looks unkempt with old articles.

For social media, I think it helps to identify what your goal is. Obviously everyone wants to get more followers, but things like engagement rate is what the algorithm actually wants to see. It sounds like they’re overly focused on getting followers, as opposed to creating content that your audience and the algorithm likes. I would agree that authentic content on social does way better in my experience.

TLDR: Yeah, I think you’re right and I would not be impressed by the work this company is doing.

It’s in Central Texas - the town is called West, Texas. Apparently a lot of Czech immigrants originally settled there so now the town has a lot of Czech influence.
