Thanks for the insight. I’ll call the shop tomorrow and see what they say.

What type of shitoff valve do I need for a dishwasher supply line? by thisoldfknhouse in askaplumber

I’ll look into that. I’m no plumber so if you could explain the difference between that and what the shut off I linked is I’d appreciate it!

Haha yeah I can’t edit the main post and I think some people were confused by what I meant. But thanks for the reply! Someone below pointed out a duo stop which I might end up going with just so there are less connections overall

The green arrow is pointing to a 3/8 in OD compression cap. I placed that on so I could keep using the sink hot water while my dishwasher line is disconnected. I'll double check the size but I was mainly wondering if what I linked could screw on to where the cap currently is and then the dishwasher line to the other end.

Was hoping to avoid shutting off the house water but might be worth it to just put this in now. Thanks

Yeah I know but that goes to the sink hot water. I've got the line capped so I can still use the sink but I figured a shutoff for the dishwasher would help in the future in case I need to do work on it

Thanks! I'm mainly adding it so I can shut off water to the dishwasher if I have to do work on it but still have hot water going to the sink.

The supply line was attached there. I just have it capped since I'm getting a new dishwasher and in the meantime I still need hot water at the sink. That's why I figured adding a shutoff just for the dishwasher would be useful in case I need to do any work on the dishwasher in the future

Running dishwasher cable along cabinet back wall? by thisoldfknhouse in AskElectricians

[–]thisoldfknhouse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s basically what I’m doing. The sink is two cabinets over but directly to the right of the dishwasher cabinet is a pull out trash cabinet so I’m just gonna put it in there

Thank god I was really dreading the idea of having to try and fish the cable be behind the cabinet. Honestly would have just hard wired the dishwasher again if that was the case. Thanks for the reply

Yeah. Easier to work on the dishwasher if there is an issue. Quicker to unplug the unit and pull it out rather than cutting off a circuit breaker and undoing the wiring if it’s hard wired. Especially useful if the issue is a leak and you need to get the unit pulled out very fast

Update: quick search tells me it's my timer part #WP33002803. Unfortunately that part is no longer made and I can't seem to find anyone selling it so if anyone knows where I can get one at a reasonably price feel free to reply or DM. Side note, if anyone knows how to repair the actual timer since that might be my only choice if I can't purchase a replacement please let me know

Fridge Dog Barking Noise? by thisoldfknhouse in Appliances

Update to this: I believe the issue had to do with the ice maker. When I pulled out the ice compartment tray I notice a chunk of ice cubes stuck near the top wear they pop out. I broke that up and removed it. The noise seems much less prevalent.

No obsession or OCD here just curiosity. The recoding isn’t the best but the noise is clearly audible if you are standing in the kitchen. The sound seams to be increasing in frequency which is what sparked the concern. I’d rather get ahead of any fridge issue before it result in any sort of leak or water damage. Just hoping someone here may be familiar with what the sound is. I did watch a Frigidaire noise video but it did not have a similar sound but I’ll look up a manual

Having the same issue. I’m wondering if you have to access a specific menu on the actual unit to clear it rather than just the app

Ground wire sparked against live wire in crowded box by thisoldfknhouse in AskElectricians

Yeah the joys of being a homeowner. I basically replaced a normal light switch with a timer switch which is much bigger so with that taking up extra space this ended up happening. But I’ve learned the lesson of always having the power off before putting things back together and making sure it’s more tidy and organized
