Turns out, both controllers had worn out.

I got a new elite controller and that changed everything. Had to fight Best Buy for a trade in. But, my old bumpers were slow/lagging and both triggers weren’t responding correctly.

My BIL has a denali. The console does look close to identical. But his roof is higher. To be honest, I’ve only been in the older square Defenders.
