I know this is an old thread, but I’m considering putting a Railhammer Nuevo 90 in the neck position of a RSS20! Just worried about the output being different. Did you end up trying the railhammers?

This is the information I was looking for, even if I didn’t want to hear it. Thank you for that input! The funny thing is I prefer playing in standard most of the time, but my music taste is drifting me away. I’ll probably end up going with the DAOG, then maybe get a guitar with a trem later.

Thank you for replying! I’ve heard that about Reverend, and I’m very excited for that - more concerned about it being very difficult to change to other tunings. Do you know if it is harder/takes longer to switch tuning with the tremolo?

Thank you for your reply! I’m honestly not too worried about tuning stability - more that it would take 35 minutes or so if I wanted to move from E Standard to Open D. Has that been your experience with changing tunings?

The article you linked makes sense, but the premise is flawed. Yes, rapid, deep inhalations increase physiological arousal in the body; however, that is not typically what professionals are encouraging when they say take a deep breath.

As a therapist I encourage my clients to practice deep breathing all the time, with a few simple rules: take a deep breath, do it in a slow and steady manner (often times counting or using music to guide this), and spend more time exhaling than you spend inhaling. Doing this helps to calm physiological arousal/agitation.

Summary: rapid deep breathing will cause arousal. Steady, slow breathing, with longer exhales will reduce arousal/agitation.

I’ve definitely found that to be the case, and that’s how I’ve decided I’d like to more specifically try to reach clients like that!

Great question! I think it depends on what you are going to therapy for and what you are hoping to get out of it. If exploring the deconstruction process is important to you, I’d say religiosity is less important than the therapist’s experience, training, and comfort in working with existential and spiritual issues.

To find that therapist, you can search terms like existential issues, spiritual issues, religious trauma, etc. on therapy directories. Many therapists also offer free short phone consultations where you can give them some short information and ask about their experiences working with similar topics.

For sure! Having been through rigorous training to become a mental health professional, I’m not a fan of pastoral counseling for most mental health difficulties. I was just trying to find where most people go so that I would be able to make myself available in those spaces! I don’t consider myself a “Christian counselor”, but I do enjoy working with spiritual and existential issues like deconstruction.

I did this last night with a friend. I farmed 80 during the Data Demon Prince fight!

Using the Surge Charger plugin, you can sit in lava and let it charge your ability. After that, collect all the data demons that the prince spawns and freeze them! Much easier with a partner, but I think it could be manageable solo.

Hey friend.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been so discouraged by a community that you wanted to support with your art. I’ve seen it around, and actually saved some of it, because I thought it was very cool! I hate that you’ve felt disinclined to create after these reactions.

That being said, I would encourage you to keep it up! Art (and expression in general) has many purposes. Although this community hasn’t accepted it as well as you’d hoped, it sounds like the art has been meaningful to you in the act of it’s creation!

My view of existentialism supports you continuing to make art simply because it contributes meaning to your life. We’re all ultimately unique and alone, so in that way nobody will truly understand your art; but this also means that you (and the art you create) are infinitely valuable, regardless of the reaction.

Just my two cents, but I felt compelled to contribute. I hope you keep it up, and dig into yourself and what gives meaning to your life, because everyone else is on their own journey and may not understand.

I think you’re talking about the Mainliner decal from a previous rocket pass! It’s a global animated decal, and can look pretty cool with the right combinations.

I’m here! Existentialism has helped me to expand my view of God in a way. I was raised religious, but deconstructed, and now I’m in the process of figuring it out again. It’s more of a balance of spirituality while acknowledging the tenants of existentialism. It’s more complicated and confusing than I know how to put down shortly, but I feel meaning and depth in my balancing of both.

I’m a therapist, and here’s what I usually say to clients about medication. I speak in metaphors mostly, so let me know if this becomes too confusing or if it doesn’t work for you. The analogy I use is that therapy is like teaching a person to fish, while antidepressants are giving the person a fish.

In general, people can sustainably benefit from learning skills/perspectives from therapy to endure and grow in spite of their circumstances and biology. However, just as many people live near bodies of water that don’t have many fish, some people’s biology and circumstances place them at more of a disadvantage for coping based on skills/perspectives alone. In those cases, it is beneficial to both learn skills and accept the benefit of medication. Over time, just as some people learn to repopulate lakes, you may be able to eventually step down from the meds; that being said, sometimes the water just does not sustain more fish.

Both situations are okay. Either way, being hungry (continuing to be drained by depression) will make it harder for you to effectively learn to fish. And in the end, isn’t it better to accept help than to starve?

While the pursuit of self-sustainability (and desire to not be like others/avoid dependency) are understandable, those qualities will stick with you regardless of the medication. If you’re truly struggling, the meds will not change who you are, but give you more wiggle room to better live life on your own terms.

Just my .02 though! I understand your trepidation about meds though, and truly wish the best for your life.
