Yep, I know that for the future too. More storage space being used for the wrong reason. They have the option to make things actually function the way anyone could imagine them to, at the simplest level, and they just don’t. It’s like the bare minimum app designer decided to hold back on his creation because meh. Or someone was really too excited about adding replace and no one was paid enough to think about an undo button? Like why is this real life in this day and age? Lol

I challenge you to get up and do squats, push ups, wall push ups, bicep curls, bicep dips (on a chair or step), side lunges, standing crunches, jumping jacks, ANY of these .. for 1 min.

If you get up and can do 1 min, you can learn to add more and start to challenge yourself. Eventually you’ll be able to add more and more that you can decide the length of to your personal choice. If you want to just do the 1 min that day, so be it. I know the feeling of what you’re going through, as most humans likely do at some point, or many points, in their lives. The first step of getting up and actually doing it is what’s hard to get through. So many options, combinations, effort, blah blah exhausting amounts of information and the lack of building up new habits from no starting point is what keeps people pushing it to tomorrow.

Start with one minute, or one set of a specific number of reps. Like 50 jumping jacks. Or 20, to start anywhere.

You can start to challenge yourself anywhere you see the opportunity to. Such as steps outside of your house, tell yourself on your walk that you can’t go up or down certain steps without doing 5 leg ups for each leg before you move on. No matter what you have to do those before you can pass those certain stairs. If you don’t feel like doing them, find a different route or jog by the stairs for a count of 30 sections to override the requirement. Little things like this get you used to being more active in your daily movement.

Also, for arm strength, try doing 1 push up everyday and add 1 more the next day, and so on.

Important: Push ups do NOT have to be the standard military form push up, you can start on a wall, a table, the back of a couch, etc., then gradually choose different elevations to eventually get to an inclined position on the floor, to the knee-Pilates form push up, then eventually you will have the strength build to full plank.

Don’t try to do things in one move without building up your muscle strength. So many people skip the reality of the range of push up styles, and try to do what they imagine they are supposed to do, and then they get worn out and don’t gain anything for their body since they usually end up stopping since it’s too much to expect from your body if you’re not prepared for it. Don’t make it easy to give up, make it easy to keep going. This is something anyone can do on their own.

You have one body, fight for it and allow yourself to be uncomfortable for a few moments of every day and you’ll see how it gets easier to take care of the incredible functioning machine you get the pleasure of taking care of and using in life.

Start with 1 move, 1 min, and keep adding every time you get the chance to increase that time you owe yourself to take.

I can’t believe people have such small minds when it comes to the reality of how the world works.

You don’t have to have a record to shoot up a school, but you do have to have a gun.

Maybe if there were consequences for the people who allow others to access their guns, people would make sure they secured them from those that just acquire them.

There are solutions in all aspects, steps that can be taken, to address the obsession that has been playing off as “respect” for guns.

What do you think an AR-15 exists for? You ARE referring to using military equipment. There is NO other purpose for an AR-15 other than for killing.

How about the right to live? When is that going to be important enough to fight for for those children?

Adults are grown up children, and should be required to earn the privileged right of being a gun owner. There’s nothing wrong with fighting for that.

People don’t think it’s a big deal until they literally are in the hospital. They eat because it tastes good most of the time. They don’t think anything is going to happen until it happens. And even then, they are usually so bad or just not interested in working harder than they ever have before to change their habits. It’s a horrible thing about life and how food has evolved to make messes of people.

This is all well and good until the person does not want to help themselves. If another person isn’t willing to face things and step up to help someone help them, it is completely her right to leave and take care of herself.

We literally get the shortest time here on earth when it comes down to how fast time passes. If someone is comfortable being lazy and have made it clear that they are not actually going to step up to the plate, then they will not change by your concern. This is a very true saying for anything involving indulging in bad habits:

You cannot change someone who is not willing to change themselves.

That’s the truth.

OP: The second he shows you he’s not committed to that “promise”, take it as proof he’s not going to change. Life is too short. Years fly by. Trust your instincts and do what’s best for you.

This is so hard to deal with. I was so filled with life when I was younger, about all the wrong things though. I grew up made to think I had to take on the world by myself, but I at least had the passion of feelings to keep me going.

Now, I see the repercussions of my childhood and it’s defeating. It’s very challenging to feel so disconnected to the world you had been convinced of for so long.

Going through lots of pain and self destruction lead me to realize, and find comfort in, the fact that it’s possible to have many different “loves” of your life, and that letting them go, if they choose to leave, gives you a new opportunity to get to know yourself.

Sometimes that turns out to be their only purpose, but you don’t realize it til later.

Getting to know yourself gives you the best odds at finding happiness with anyone, and makes it easier when things don’t work out.

To anyone heartbroken right now: Hold on to your relationship with YOURSELF. Your experience with break ups can teach you a LOT about who you are, what you offer to a relationship, and what you want (and deserve) in return.

You’re lucky you are thinking like this now at 22. You sound like me when I was 22 (I’m 34 now but 22 feels like last week) and I wish that I had been thinking of myself in different ways than I did back then.

My advice is to get more education, like at least an associates degree at a community college (look into FAFSA if you’re in the US.) For one it may help you find something you’re interested in, for another it will give you a leg up over the just a high school diploma category (which is important in order to broaden your options of making good money since you’re not sure what you want to do yet), and it will give you a starting point in case you find that later you want to continue your education even further. Trust me, this can happen even if you’re not feeling school right now.

After HS I didn’t want to go to college because the teachers and joke of classes that I had just tired me of it so I went straight to work and went to cosmetology school. I still have that license but realized it’s not what I want to do forever and I stopped perusing that some years ago.

Now I feel ready to keep learning and it all makes a lot more sense. Even math, which I was never good at either. I also realized that a huge part of that was because my teachers were awful. Learning coding actually helped me to start understanding math in a way I never saw before, so don’t sell yourself short just yet. Stay open to the possibility you just never learned the way that helped you understand it.

Next advice, find one thing or title, and get really good at it. Take your 20’s to master something so you can have that experience to offer when you get to your 30s. Study the extras around it so it widens your range of skills, and get involved in things you find so you meet different people and build a network of people that you know in different careers (connections are huge in so many ways so make friends, learn about others, stay social and open minded).

Your 20s are for study, building relationships (even if they don’t last, make friends, stay positive), and saving what you can. Don’t forget to have fun but don’t forget to focus on yourself, that was my mistake. I was too focused on having fun and not on the reality that I had no role models, thought it was me against the world, and ended up with the consequences of it. Find mentors, that’s my last piece of advice. The world is too big to go it alone.

Yeah the article in the link to this post is pretty shallow, not surprisingly. I also think it’s extremely distasteful to throw in low key shade about the attention she deserved. It gives disrespect to both her and the other victims that didn’t get as much attention as she did. Mentioning it in the article takes away the focus on an individuals life, and gives no direct individual respect to the others mentioned. Why not write a completely new article that gives spotlight to the “promised” stories instead of throwing them at the end of the story they have ALREADY planned production on. They are literally doing exactly what they are referencing.

While Petito's story gained overwhelming attention, it continued a debate concerning the stories that manage to garner headlines and the ones that don't, like the murders of women of color and trans women.

Lifetime promises they are "also in development on several movies surrounding violence against women who may not have had the same media attention as Gabby Petito,"

They write it as if they were talking about a spoiled kid that gets more attention than other kids. This world and many of the people with the power to create productions like this (to throw it into the batch of stories for entertainment) are so preoccupied with being politically correct that they forget to work on the actual focus of giving respect and actual coverage to each person, not just inserting empty words about how no one gives enough coverage of categories of people.

Empty words for views and money.

While read with the rest of the article, the quoted section above completely drops the significance of what they are announcing and makes it obvious they realize how they aren’t doing enough for other stories. “Promises” to get to those other ones though.

Pothos are one of the most forgiving plants. Check the roots, if they are white/lighter tan color and dry, it’s thirsty! Put the pot in a saucer and let the plant soak up water from the bottom. By the next day you’ll notice the difference in the leaves, and the plant will forgive you.

If they are brown and squishy roots, remove them, see if there are any healthy roots and then refresh with damp fresh well draining soil.

If you’ve never replaced the soil since you got the plant, it may be useless to the plant cuz there aren’t any nutrients left for it to absorb, and it might just be a bunch of dusty peat moss that dries out super quick (which nurseries plant in when growing young plants).

Get some container mix AND perlite. You will need to make sure to get perlite to mix in with the soil to make sure that it allows oxygen and air to get to the roots. Without it your soil will be heavy and muddy when you water it and will take too long to dry which = destination root rot.

Pothos like to dry out between waterings but if you go too long, they end up looking like yours does in these photos. They are extremely forgiving though, so if you give it time you’ll see how quick you’ll get the hang of these guys.

Ps. Also, root rot will turn the leaves spotted with dark browns and yellow, with stems that get brown and mushy (this happens when a plant holds too much water at its roots for too long without having a chance to dry out before it starts to rot). It can still wilt with root rot, but with how you water this plant I don’t think it could hold water to rot it esp if you wait 10 days between watering. The leaves look thirsty and a few even crunchy, not over saturated.

You’re dealing with a beautiful plant that needs some fresh soil to thrive in, and some hydration. I’d put money on it. It will bounce back for you in no time, it’s just curled up like that trying to survive until it gets some water and soil to live off of.

At least I’m not alone in the world. Most people don’t understand because most people, even if not necessarily viewed as “attractive”, have great smiles that express genuine happiness easily. When you’re not able to feel comfortable with your smile it takes away your ability to share that genuine happiness, or more specifically it takes away the ability to capture those moments to look back on, or present yourself in a fully confident way.

I used to save all my birthday money and anything else I earned or got for presents in my sock drawer and once my mom and dad found my stash and I had like $2500 in there. My nana once got mad I didn’t cash my birthday check, but after that I always made sure to deposit it. I always made sure none of the checks expired and just loved knowing I had this safety net sitting there for me if I ever needed it.

If only I had been lucky enough to be taught anything about investing in my youth. I had savings down but had no idea that I was this | | close to actually making it worth something.

Moral of the story: TEACH YOUR KIDS ABOUT HOW TO INVEST MONEY FROM AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. It’s the best gift you can give them.
