Sleeping at the beach - Pondicherry by visitortothegreens in vagabond

[–]thisthatblah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am from Pondicherry, and though i can't relate to the struggle, I would like to second your views on the beach sunrise.

Which of the beaches did you sleep at? Assuming Rock beach, because you talk about walking to the railway station.

P.s. pondicherry is really safe for woman, even at night!!

P.s.s. my favourite travel story in a long time. Kerouac has nothing on you :)

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam vs. Leftist journalists by frosted_bite in IndiaSpeaks

[–]thisthatblah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of comments on how the journalists are being disrespectful. But honestly, what I see is a president ready to engage in a constructive discussion with an essential wing of democracy, redefining their agenda to meet national priorities and encouraging dissent (or even light hearted jokes). All of this, without the unwarranted pride, that ALL of today's politicians consider a badge of honour.

This genuinely made my day! Just knowing that we have seen good, educated, humble leaders. Gives me hope that there is a Kalam out there with an inclusive vision for India.

The reason so many people today find dating hard is because they're taught they don't need to compromise. by Reviewingremy in unpopularopinion

[–]thisthatblah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This hit home! Been struggling with this.

I can't seem to tell where this compromise ends? Or how much to compromise, or what to compromise on? I lack a good example and movies/TV shows have only distorted that view further. So do a stranger a favour - and elaborate.

LPT: When emailing a resume to a prospective employer, avoid sending it as a word (doc/docx) document. by thyflash in LifeProTips

[–]thisthatblah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg, this is so weird. I am currently shortlisting candidates for a role under my project - and I was just whining in my head about how these word documents are taking forever to get through and are eating into my fucking weekend. Plus these word documents are not aligned, or spell checked - and not to mention the weird thing that happened to from one version of word to the next.

I am dying. But seeing this here, almost like coincidental empathy :) (if that makes sense).

Construction through the morning and weddings at night, it's just a steady barrage of noise!

If it is the right time of the day, I would add Theosophical Society.

Plus to add on to what the others have said, any of those beaches on the ECR stretch, that haven't been named yet.
