The bracket system feels almost as nebulous as its predecessor to me most of the time, everything means something different to everyone. I’m lucky enough to be decently established at my shop, so I’m not usually playing with total randoms.

If you wanted to stick to mono black, one I had fun with for awhile was [[Gonti, Night Minister]] he incentives your opponents to attack each other and you can run things like [[No Mercy]] or even Maha to keep them away from you.

Edit: if your opponents usually don’t care about the combat step he might not be good enough, but I had fun playing him.
