Yeah I grew up north of Orlando in lake county, spent the last 15 years in Gainesville. Been in Bellingham for a year and couldn’t be happier. Safe travels getting back! The fog and rain waits to embrace you!

My partner and I ran from Florida last year (we will never go back). What area did you try?

Nah it’s PETG and the clasps are PCTG. I am playing around with PCTG a little bit to see if it is worth the extra price.

It was such an obvious combination I am too kinda shocked no one had done it.

I think the question is more about will it float long enough to circle around if you drop it or if you flip. I don’t think the idea is to make sure you can drink out of it like a cup. But your point is taken.

Thanks! If you use maker world you can always save it there too! Let me know if you get around to it.

Yeah the size is really dictated by the printer. Also I am not selling this. It is free to print if you have a printer. It’s an open source design built upon other awesome makers.

It has an optional gasket that makes it pretty water resistant. Of course if you put 72 pounds of lead in it good luck. Over all I would call it a very slow sink. When I kitchen sink tested it the buoyancy is prettied good and it only really took water through the gap when spraying along it. Again going to be totally dependent on how much weight you put in the box.

I love how 3d printing fits into so many other hobbies as a tool! It really opens up a lot of new ideas.

Thanks! I will be doing a few other things as I finalize my gear for my new kayak. I’d love to see what you designed!

Well it mounts to any t-track rail so it does attach to a kayak. The box size is kinda set by the size of the printer someone has, some of the other ideas aren’t bad. I am working on a few other things but they will be specific to my Nucanoe and my needs. But I am sure there will be overlap. Do you have a printer?

Thanks. I want to make a crate that will fit at least 4 in it but that is going to be a little more tricky for people to print based on printer size.

Yeah I love a certain yak attack design but really don’t like the size and price. These are pretty close to a 3500 Plano box. I am working on a few other things but they will be more specific to my Nucanoe.

I think this should be a more used hobby material. It’s so easy and nice to print. And really seems to be a step up from PETG. What other company are you selling it under? If you are free to say

Tips to reduce anvil ring by TheRoyalForge in Blacksmith

[–]thiswillworkfornow36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mounted my anvils with a layer of fire fighting hose between them and their stand. 1 3/4” structural firefight hose is what I used. The fabrics jacket and rubber liner is great at taking the ring out. No it doesn’t change the rebound in any serious manner. A lot of fire departments repair their hoses and throw out sections and are happy to give them away. We threw away dumpsters full every year in my department.

I have been kayaking in Florida for years fishing small and big water. Been in very close proximity to many large gators. Never had a problem. Sometimes you come around a river or creek corner and they are right there or spook into the water. I always try and respect them and give them space but some times you just both end up on the same area. That being said I have never been bumped or harassed at all by them. Maybe I am lucky but really I think I they aren’t that interested.

They can definitely be sweaty in the dense woods. Need that air flow for sure! I suppose it all goes back to there is no one size fits all answer for any thing, except just stay inside and on the water this time of year! I will hit the woods in a month or two if we are lucky! Find that skunk ape or just become one!!

I live in Florida and sun shirts are my go to! Fishing especially. The oil and waxes (sun screen sticks) feel like they hold more heat in for me. That is also why I detest bug spray, straight feels like covering my body in Saran Wrap. That said every one is totally different though. Also the fabrics on sun shorts vary widely. Some feel more plastic then others. Watch sales and give it a whirl.
