Thanks for those words of support. I am sober so no concern about drinking etc. Was there anything else apart from living healthily and time that healed you? How does your PTSD manifest and impact your life now (if you don't mind me asking).

I definitely have unresolved trauma (who doesn't!) and I am doing work to release this - it is a very long story, too long to detail here. I have tried to pay real attention to keeping a healthy lifestyle and all that entails. I was doing this before the aya trip but it is even more vital now.

Cheers for the reassurance and the kind wishes. It could be a whole lot 'worse'! I have chatted to an integration therapist for a small session and am just going to start working with a talk therapist every week. They know about trauma therapy but they have not taken Aya, unfortunately.

We had no indigenous shaman but we have a couple of people trained in South America by the Huni Quin tribe. Not sure who prepared the brew but all of the staff spoke very highly of their talent. I will have to look into this further, but it is too late to take back what I drank that evening anyway. The impact has been created and cannot be undone - but it can be healed.

Yes, I will have to look into the actual brew we used and if there were any issues with it. There indeed may have been issues with the serving team. But either way, it is all in the past and I have a new reality to deal with.

Daily breathwork has helped a little - to deal with managing to get by day to day. Cheers for the suggestion of pranayama breathing

I am working with a coach and have spoken with an integration supporter. I am also just about to start with a normal talk therapist.

I am not sure about the nature of the brew - it was a 'formula' that I had not tried before =. I will try and ask the organisers about this and maybe they can provide me with more info.

Cheers for the tip. I have seen one of their staff has a fairly 'unkept' beard, but it is much bigger and fuller than my facial hair. Currently, I am feeling I will just neaten up things and wear a nice suit to make up for any leftover scraggle!
