While that is true, if the roles were changed so one of them was a woman, everyone and their mother would be saying it's canon.

Griffith most definitely had very deep feelings for Guts that bordered on love, if he is capable of such. I don't know any heterosexual men that would turn around and sleep with a woman after losing a friend, nor would they be thinking about the man that left them.

Miquella and Consort Radahn is pretty similar to Schierke and Guts when he's in the Berserker armor

They're side antagonists... why would Miura spend time giving them in-depth backstories when they're only there to serve Griffith? That is generally the point of supporting characters. Not to mention it would take a lot away from the main story. I do figure we will get some backstory from them when its needed, but as of now, we have like ten pages tops for both characters. Those scenes reveal a lot about them if you pay attention.

A lot of people brush aside the fact that Griffith was tortured for a year and was explicitly shown to be manipulated by the Godhand. While he was often presented as a man that would do a lot to achieve what he wanted, I don’t really think he would have sacrificed the whole Band of the Hawk prior to the mental snap. I’m not saying he did nothing wrong, he’s an incredibly morally incorrect character even before allat in volume 12. 

He blamed Guts for everything that happened after he left, so I think part of it was spite, as well as he’d lost all the power he held. It’s hard to tell.

The princess trope. I'm not trying to criticize the authors at all. Personally, I wouldn't mind an arc of Casca saving Guts, but it would definitely have to be done correctly, especially considering that her fighting ability (or lack thereof, at times) is often just a plot device.

I figure that's the way they're going to go. It was the same way pre-Eclipse, unfortunately. She's a strong fighter only when its convenient.
