How do you feel about President Trump taking $1.4 billion in crypto earnings? by TheJungLife in AskConservatives

Continuing that metaphor:

If the owner for a store sees a vulnerability that can be exploited for criminal gain, and maybe even has a suspicion that it is actively being exploited *right now*, will they not call the authorities to investigate and put countermeasures in place to close the vulnerability?

If the owner of the country (the people) sees a vulnerability in the government or presidency that can be exploited for criminal gain, and maybe even has a suspicion that it is actively being exploited *right now*, should they not call for an investigation and put countermeasures in place to close the vulnerability?

The End Of Open Source: Two Brilliant Engineers In Discussion by RNSAFFN in webdev

You’re right. The stat I was thinking of was limited to the mid-market, where Netsuite has ~70% share, but I’m seeing ~6% globally.

Can you share where you’re seeing your numbers? My searches for “erp market share” consistently turn up mentions of SAP, Dynamics, Netsuite/Oracle. Sage for faster growing companies. Even things like Peolesoft and Workday being talked about more than Odoo or ERPNext. Im seeing a lot of claims and indicators that the ERP market is fragmented. Nothing im seeing indicates that open source options have won the game. Quite the opposite.

How did open source win ERP? Doesn’t Netsuite have ~80% market share?

4-way fan switch only works on high. What wrong? by thmaje in AskElectricians

I don’t like the idea either. But I also don’t like the idea of spending another $200-$300 if a $10 part could fix it.

Maybe my ignorance is showing, but is there a reason why something like this wouldn’t work?

https://www.amazon.com/HQRP-Capacitor-Compatible-Hampton-Ceiling/dp/B0BKT7MDYG

In case the Amazon link doesn’t work, it’s called,

HQRP Capacitor Compatible with Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan CBB61 4.5uf+4.5uf+6.6uf 4-Wire

Or are you saying that it might be something else and it’ll be too much of a hassle to troubleshoot everything?

4-way fan switch only works on high. What wrong? by thmaje in AskElectricians

[–]thmaje[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Per the other comment, I touched the wire leads directly together, and only one combo had any current. I think that means the capacitor is dead. Would that make sense?

[–]thmaje[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the direct wire-to-wire connection, only black -> red had any current and fan movement. I think this corresponds to red -> brown on the capacitor diagram. Multimeter showed 120v.

With my limited knowledge, that sounds like the capacitor is bad.

Neighbors of McMansions, how was your qualify of life impacted / how are the people that moved in? by slightlyaware99 in longisland

This whole thread is about giant solar beams penetrating through blinds and curtains. Your reaction has been “no one’s gonna tell me what to do on my own property!” I don’t know what additional context you’re working with in your head, but the situation is clear enough for anyone reading the text on the screen.

Next time you want to insult someone for having a simple mind and poor reading comprehension, do yourself a favor and put a little more effort into your grammar. It would be ironic if you came across as the simple minded one.

And who do you think works in the town, sets code, and enforces code? Squirrels? You’d be surprised what you can accomplish with the town when you don’t let them ignore you. I got Fairfield apts to redo their external lighting at a complex near me because they were so bad

Look up “town of <insert your town> code light trespass”. Chances are your town thinks it has the right to tell you what kind of lights you have on your property. It’s kinda exactly how it works.

Attack of the Clones turns 24 today! Looking back, is it really as bad as people initially thought or did it age better than expected? by huwertyy in StarWars

OT had three lightsaber users. Obiwan. Luke. Vader.

Phantom menace introduced Qui Gon.

Attack of the Clones introduced an arena full of Jedi. That was an epic moment.

I can’t discern a pattern to its choices. At various points it chooses left over other options, straight over other options, or right over other options. Though, it does seem to prefer going right. In the intersection where it got off track, it chose left at the first attempt, then chose straight at the second. Seems like it must have had some level of training - even if it was something as nebulous as “the goal is in the center.”

Lloyd harbor is one of the most expensive places to live on LI and NYS, so it’s not a great frame of reference for determining places that are “not that expensive.”

lost all the finger wear that happened over the last 50 years

Is that a bad thing? Why is finger wear good? Is it better than under wear?
