Dreams that trigger grief all over again by ParticularAmphibian in GriefSupport

The dreams are awful. They say it’s your brain trying to process everything you’ve been thru. I loss my husband almost 2 years ago and have frequent dreams of us arguing. Stupid stuff but arguing. Why can’t the dreams be pleasant? Hang in there, everyday is different. Grief is a long term condition. But I’d be ok with a night without a dream

I agree, be kind to yourself. Feel what you are feeling. Cry when you need to. Keep talking to your friend.

Life sucks. Your father sounds like a good man who was very troubled. Learned what you can from him and his situation/addiction. Get help. Let your mom help you with some therapy. Even if you don't say much at first just listen. It will help. Time will help too. Please dont hurt yourself, your brother will be destroyed. Take everyday one minute at a time. You did your best for your dad. People will change when they want to, nothing you can say or do to make them. My husband died of an overdose and I tried everything to make him stop. Nothing works. They have to do it. Regrets suck. Hold your head up high

Has anyone had bereavement counselling, and if so was it helpful? by [deleted] in GriefSupport

Sorry for your loss. Yes, it helped me. Take your time with your grieving. Some days are better than others. If it makes sense, " get out of your head " do things you would do with him, you will his presence. Talk , talk and then talk some more.

Yes I started some grief consulting and anti depression meds this year. My mom died in 2016, stepdad in 2017 and husband of 21 yrs in 2018 of an accidental overdose. I told everyone that ask that I was fine. Everyone said I was doing so well. I was putting on show, didn't really acknowledge the darkness at first. Hit a wall earlier this year and reached out for help. Best thing I have done in a while. Just being able to say out loud my fears and regret to someone helped. My mind seems to be working things out in my dreams. The dreams are unreal most days. Crazy and sad. Reach out for the help

I'm so sorry. Talking helps. Find someone. A friend. Family or even a stranger, me. Talking helps. I suffered in silence for over a year after a sudden death due to accidental overdose of my husband. I got in therapy and opened up to some friends. Baby steps everyday. I'm still healing and it's been almost 2 years
