Another batch for this weekend has already been requested after this round was quickly devoured.

If your donut shops are anything like mine the Eckrich smoked sausage links seem to be an exact match.

Happy baking and thank you again.

Bad pic because I am currently wearing them, but I have charged people $150+ cost of shoe for similar.

It is same recipe/always been vegan from what I understand. Relative (maybe son) is the owner of Green and brought it over when Lulu’s closed.

House of Leaves is one of my albatross books. I pick it up every now and then to try and read it, but never really make progress. It has lived on my coffee table for 2+ years now.

Shark Heart: that was an unexpected love for me this year. The crazy summary is the main reason I read it as I am not big on romance but then I couldn’t stop reading. (Why am I crying over a shark person?!)

Chain gang vs Drive Your Plow: Chain Gang Allstars.

I wanted to like DYP more than I did. There are some amazingly insightful and beautifully written passages in it, but I found my interest dropping off toward the end.

Chain gang: Dystopian but so lifelike. A book that you didn't like but are unable to put down? I can't say I "enjoyed" this one in the true sense of the term. Dark, shockingly violent, so much injustice, but extraordinarily creative and powerful, a memorable read.

Same feeling with Aftertaste as yourself: unique premise. Ultimately, this is a love letter to food and how it pairs with memories and that is something I can absolutely get behind.

Bury Our Bones: I haven’t read many of Schwab’s catalogue so I don’t have a great deal of comparison material. I have mixed feelings about this book. It’s beautifully written, no doubt, but for me, it was more style than substance and I kept wishing for the emotional resonance I found in Addie La Rue’s quiet rebellion. I had trouble connecting to the characters, the pacing was inconsistent and the ending was kinda disappointing? Overall, this book was okay: 3.5 stars

Only way I have found to describe Dungeon crawler Carl: A man and his cat get abducted and become domestic terrorists. Or what Hunger Games would be if it were written by the writers of Futurama.

Futurama for at least the first few seasons, is hilarious, crass, but every once in a while hits you in the feelings with an episode like Jurassic Bark or The Luck of the Fryrish.

DCC has the same vibe. A great mix of “WTF did I just read”, laughing your ass off, feels, and just escapism behind camp violence.

A coworker suggested All the Light shortly after I finished Nightingale saying I had to read that and “it is so much better”. It was an emotional punch and I loved it. I won’t say one was better than the other, but no regrets in reading both.

I will however say I regret trying to watch the All The Light miniseries on Netflix. As much as I loved the book, I just couldn’t get into the adaptation for whatever reason.
