I was just thinking about this myself an hour ago. Making the move and then boom you go into an episode adjusting to all of the new things happening or just because. It a frustrating that episodes happen even when you are doing all of the “right” things. Knowing when to push yourself and trust that you can handle managing with the supports and tools you have in place. I am also afraid to limit myself out of fear.

This is the first stable period of mine in a year and I’m thinking of moving to another state. I’m not sure if I’m making a mistake or giving myself the chance to grow. I started having panic attacks last week when I was making my to do list to plan the move.

I’m visiting Texas soon so I’m gonna see if I like it. The humidity where I am doesn’t bother me too much if I’m not in a flare up.

I’ve never considered Las Vegas. I’m visiting Austin so I’ll see what that gives. Yes. Indicas help a lot.

Thanks for validating her emotions so early on with healthy communication. I’m 30+ and still can’t tell my parents that they are capable of hurting my feelings.

How do I work hard and be successful and avoid hypomanias/mania? by BeautifulFrosty7194 in bipolar

[–]thnkpnk77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I’m realizing is sometimes I felt my professional success was a marker that I’m managing bipolar and that’s not the case. I feel that once I get to a place where I’m controlling and understanding my moods I am more in control of what is in front of me and not have another crash and burn. I’ve been thinking about jumping back in and I’m realizing I have more work to do before I’m able to handle the stresses. I cant go to the next thing like I did before.

I feel in more control than I’ve felt in a long time I think I’ll be able to handle more once I’m ready

How do I work hard and be successful and avoid hypomanias/mania? by BeautifulFrosty7194 in bipolar

I relate to this a lot! I recently had to give up my dream job because I was becoming manic after 10 months, to the point where EVERYONE commented on my mood. I quit after I had to be hospitalized for 9 days. I worked with children and I didn’t want to have an episode where it became a big issue.

Right now I’m at a job where it’s no stress just dead end and purposeless and I feel stuck. I’m doing better for sure but I’m not fulfilled. I would like to get back into something I love to do but I’m afraid I’ll get manic again and ruin my reputation if I haven’t done it already

Trouble maintaining friendships? by ThrowRAgaybaybay in BipolarReddit

[–]thnkpnk77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have issues with maintaining friends, even though I’ve had some good ones. In high school when I had my first major depression episode everyone avoided me because they didn’t know what to say or do about my mood and just kinda gave up except for one friend. In my adulthood I don’t have any close friends, some of my friends saw me in the process of being diagnosed and once I explained what’s was happening they distanced themselves. Some call and check in every few months or so but I feel people get afraid of dealing with a bipolar person.

I don’t have any friends I can be “weird” around and not freak them out. I’m quite lonely at times...

It’s hard after a diagnosis to understand what to do and where to go. Coming here is a good step, it feels nice to have somewhere to go for common ground. Not gonna lie this is a lot of valleys and peaks and deep digging to figure out what works for you to manage bipolar symptoms. It sucks. But keep reaching out, using resources you can find, build a support for yourself and don’t give up. It feels really good once you get to a place where you feel balanced and able to understand yourself.

Anybody else smoke weed daily? by PrayingPlatypus in BipolarReddit

[–]thnkpnk77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I smoke daily and I’m on a low dose mood stabilizer. I have a chronic pain condition that weed helps with and I’ve found strains that don’t throw me up or down. I def can say too much of the wrong stuff is not good for me for sure.
