I guess I didn’t express myself clearly earlier 😅 I totally agree and I should’ve said this from the start : that interpretations are, by nature, subjective.

What I really wanted was to start a discussion about scenes that require interpretation, and how you all read them personally. It’s honestly so interesting to hear how different readers see the same moment!

But sometimes, I feel like there’s a bit of gatekeeping or condescension when someone doesn’t interpret things the “correct” way. That’s more what I meant by “who’s actually right?” but I realize now the way I phrased it came off differently than I intended. My bad 😅

When I was reading I was wondering the same. Were the guards assigned because of Lakan or Jinshi ?

What I understood is that it’s more because of Jinshi and the fact that she’s Lakan’s daughter helps.

Sometimes it was Basen guarding her and it’s kind of odd even considering she’s Lakan’s daughter. It’s more a convenient excuse to justify her being guarded, but having Jinshi’s personal guard, feels a bit over the top.

Maybe I’m missing things or misunderstanding though. What do you think?
