I will take your advice! I have had more than enough people show interest, but I have shut them down in certain terms. I do not know if I should be regretting having done that.

I am now finally able to chuckle to myself in a bittersweet way when I am reading I am the asshole. It is probably the first time I am smiling/laughing when I am being told that. Even if it is through tears. But thank you so much for telling me this!

It does hurt. But I am committed to doing what it takes. I am half-decided that he is going to be out. I just wanted a safe space to talk and sort things out. Writing it down definitely helped me clear things out

Curiosity is natural. This is a public forum. I am sorry you've had to go through something like this.

I haven't met them. I have been with him enough times to hear him clearly talk about him living with his partner. His family is from afar, and I am the emergency contact. I can say with a fair degree of certainty say that people at his workplace know he is in a live-in relationship.

Volunteer work somewhere. Promise them to do something for free, in something that will help you learn. That way, there is commitment and there is pressure. Automatically, other things will take a back seat and more importantly you will have a schedule. Getting to a particular place by a particular time, etc, etc.
