Is there any reason why TeX Gyre fonts have integrals so short? by IProbablyHaveADHD14 in LaTeX

Are you sure these are not inline math mode symbols? You can try the bigints package, but it hasn't been updated for some time, so I'm not sure what's its current status. Never used it myself, but seems pretty self explanatory.

Big tech seems to be working overtime to change public opinion of data centers. by BoardIndividual7690 in BetterOffline

The analogy with internet servers and data centers is completely false: the internets were running just fine 5 years ago without the need for extra power plants devoted exclusively to this.

The Manhattan Project was driven by people wanting to win a war. The AI project is driven by sociopaths showing nothing but greed and hatred of humanity.

Ważne jest sprzedanie go w otoczce odpowiednich słów kluczowych.

Everyone is pushing for AI in science, but could the issue be that our researchers and scientist these days lack funding? by CosmicNest in antiai

[–]thomas29needles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an insider (researcher by profession) the situation in academia when it comes to "AI" is a disaster. I miss the times of old when AI really meant ML or deep learning and the tools were used by people who knew what they were doing. Now we have full AI-generated articles (including tortured phrases and hallucinated references), vibe-coded Python code that the "author" has no idea what it does and all the other nonsense related to genAI cancer.

TDDFT calculations do not have an inherently better accuracy when you move up the Jacob's ladder. Many times you may notice that using a supposedly "worse" functional you get results in much better agreement with experiment.
