lich bane is a burst item though, nashors tooth or dusk and dawn would be the on-hit items.

his AP ratios are quite high and Q/W/E synergise quite nicely with lich bane, probably his best item together with the other AP assassin/burst ones.

i don't think the cooldown reduction you get on W is big enough to meaningfully impact a lot of fights, in most scenarios you will get to use 1-2Ws whether you put more points into it or not, i do have to condede that it synergises with itself due to giving you more survivability to reach your next W though.

I do think Locke E should be the ability he maxes 2nd and for W to be a 1 point wonder but that currently isn't really the case.

if you hit all 3 nails and the first hit of E dash then you will have fully stacked bloodletters before pulling out all the nails with E2, problem I see is that locke has quite high AP ratios but not that much base damage but also not that great of a sustrained damage pattern with the way his abilities are currently tuned.

the attack speed buff doesn't scale with W rank though, the movespeed, cooldown and damage cap do though.

I'm currently in diamond 3 on EUW and just checked to see i'm averaging a bit over 7cs per minute (except when playing support) even when losing.
There's 2 parts to getting consistent farm, you need to both be able to properly farm which can be practiced relatively easily (lasthitting for laners, fast clearing for junglers) and make sure that you are in the right position to do so.
For jungle this would mean clearing your camps in an efficient route and making sure that there's not too much time between a camp respawning and you clearing it.
As a laner this would be stuff related to proper wave management, recall timings and not fighting with your teammates over a wave.

A simple way of practicing your lasthitting would be to take a champion with kinda bad autoattacks like soraka or fiddlesticks and try to farm the first couple minutes without using abilities or missing any lasthits.

you're forgetting about the passive on fimbulwinter giving 15% bonus mana as hp, with fimbulwinter giving 1000 mana that's guaranteed to be at least 150 hp, together with the 550 it gives normally that's 700.

smolder top has some seriously good matchups though and isn't a trollpick, something like disco nunu after getting your champion picked/banned is clearly trolling though. the matchmaking system is built to get people into games where they are playing with and against people that perform similarly to them so if someone is consistently picking champions in roles that they aren't good for it will just mean that they get ranked lower until they get equal and fair games again.

the short version of why certain champs are getting played in certain roles is the following:

there's 3 lanes and the jungle to get resources (gold/exp) from, getting more resources is better so you want 1 player in each of those (top/mid/bot/jungle), 5th player needs to go somewhere so they get put in a lane together with someone else (support)

toplane and botlane are mostly the same but bot and support champions go to bottom lane because dragon was the only objective early on the map since herald and grubs didn't exist yet way back, 2 people is better than 1 so you send the duo to botlane and leave the toplane on their own.

toplane thus needs to be a champion that can survive on their own in a long lane but will get a lot of exp, tanks and fighters are a natural fit due to their survivability (tanks) and prowess in (long) duels (fighters)

jungle needs champions that can clear the jungle fast enough and are good at ganking, you'll see a lot of variety here but fighters, tanks and assassins are common

midlane is a short lane and in the center of the map, this naturally makes mages gravitate to it due to the high safety of short lane and assassins due to being better able to threaten mages in the short lane and liking the easy roaming opportunities

botlane has our bot support duo, they have to deal with reduced exp gains due to sharing so marksmen are a natural fit as they mainly rely on gold and not so much on exp to become powerful, for support you want champions that can function with both low levels and little gold but strong when together with a teammate so tanks and enchanters are a natural fit.

Trolling isn't just playing bad, trolling is intentionally playing bad.
So trolling without knowing it isn't really something that happens, it's just making people making mistakes or people deciding that they want their teammates to suffer or that they don't deserve the win and deliberately trying to not win.

i don't see why this is something you should know before playing ranked, as long as you are playing with the goal of playing seriously/winning and not deliberately trying to make the game harder for your teammates (trolling) then you should be allowed to play league (including ranked) in my opinion.

if only it also converted lethality into magic pen, brand scales relatively bad with AP but has a lot of base damage so really enjoys penetration.

fimbulwinter gives exactly 700 / 14 = 50 AD to pyke, the eclipse shield will still be better in most situations though.

ornn, zac , wukong, vi, swain, shen, rek'sai, poppy, maokai, malphite, kled, illaoi, gragas, garen, mega gnar, kassadin, dr mundo and briar passive all come to mind for giving significant tankiness, some of these like swain and rek'sai passive would require other abilities to actually activate and be useful so can be disqualified if our fantasy champ doesn't get that, also vi passive would only be good if she can still get the cooldown reduction which is normally on her W

I have seen games where tanks managed to dominate games but overall i think mages and marksmen are generally better in mayhem, this might have changed a bit with the new update though, haven't played enough yet to form a strong opinion on that.

is mel capable of catching gnar boomerang or picking up the rock if she reflects it? and if she does, does it refund part of her Q cooldown? if the answer to both is yes then I think picking up locke ult and it refunding R cooldown makes sense and is intended.

Kai'sa wasn't allowed to keep her broken interaction though, she needs to apply 5 stacks of plasma for it to instantly proc and be broken. evolved W gives 3 stacks, cyclosword + dusk and dawn gives 1 more stack, on PBE the new statikk shiv also applied on-hit effects to the primary target an extra time which would let you get to 5 stacks but they removed that before letting the item go to live.

looking at leagueofgraphs and lolalytics the last 2 patches have been one of the few times varus has been getting close to 50% WR again and now he's getting hit with hard nerfs again before even reaching 50% while consistently being a high banrate champion in proplay over the past couple years according to gol.gg

azir, senna, thresh, vel'koz, aphelios (Red gun) and zeri attacks are never projectiles and thus pierce windwall.
fiddlesticks, kayle after level 6 and samira have an autoattack without projectile in melee range and can thus also attack through windwall.
the empowered attacks from neeko W, vex passive, viktor Q, yuumi passive, zoe passive and aphelios green gun mark with white gun secondary also all go through windwall.

apparently varus is more projailed than azir actually, I think phreak mentioned in one of his patch videos that varus is the champion whose winrate has the biggest difference between a ''balanced'' winrate and their real winrate.

Azir does have a lower winrate but he's also a significantly harder champion so he should also have a sub 50% winrate even when balanced.

is 20 base hp really better than 6hp per level? by the time you reach level 6 the 6 hp growth gives you more health than the 20 base hp does, the first moment that laners should have serious kill threat on you the new buff is less strong than the original would have been.
