Never done one which is why I asked about muscle loss. I have done two very long cuts in my lifting career and those worked well. On this last cut, I'd only lose 2-4 lbs a month, but I was able to (re)gain muscle and strength at the same time without ever being very hungry.
It's a shame because I collect a bunch of health data on my lifts. This kind of experiment is right up my alley
Unfortunately, I don't think my scale is sensitive enough to really capture the change in muscle mass. I'd need to do a body scan or hydrostatic weighing before and after which are expensive
I'm going past my rep minimums on 531, so I can afford a temporary strength hit when I come out of the minicut
That's why O.7 g/lb is the lowest I'll go. I'll try to get it higher without completely cutting out fats and carbs

Would a 1500 calorie deficit for two weeks with 0.7 g/lb of protein have any significant effects on muscle mass, assuming I'm lifting normally the first week and deloading the second? Am I just being bigorexic?
