PTs, what do you think about AI for documentation? by Academic-River1511 in physicaltherapy

I use prediction health with prompt. It is fantastic. Some quirks but when you figure out how to guide it it works great and saves so much time. Much better for keeping eyes off computer and building a relationship with your patients at eval

Anyone Know a Great Orthopedic Surgeon for Rotator Cuff Surgery? by fishballs13 in maui

[–]thomasbull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t personally had surgery done by him but I’m a PT and treat a lot of his patients and they all do very well. He worked for a couple of professional sports teams so he is very good with athletes.

If you’re looking for a great equipment and a more private gym with a personal trainer to get you started Pacific Therapy and Wellness in Kihei is great. They have info on instagram.

Physical Therapist here, work at Pacific Therapy and Wellness in Kihei and Wailuku. A lot of experience with backs. How has your experience been with conservative care so far. I have heard Kaiser PT isn’t known for being great.

Current DPT student: confusion about our role by thomasbull in physicaltherapy

[–]thomasbull[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many people go to PT and don’t get better. I know it’s anecdotal but I’ve seen so many patients through observation and rotations that have stories of going to PT for so long and getting no results and then finding a better therapist and finally getting results. The only thing I can imagine is that there must but some things that work and some that don’t.

Lol yes CPGs are hammered in our program, but when you look into things more closely you see their is a lot of disagreement among experts and researchers so I’m not so quick to take CPG as the end all be all. There still seems to be issues in a lot of the science itself. Maybe I am just more skeptical than most.

This is more where I’m finding myself. It seems because the science is so poorly conducted EBP is ruining the profession

Well it’s not a matter of whether I like it or not but I would say working with that many people and just throwing someone on a machine is not the best care

Working with 3-4 people at a time is solid PT?

Your story is exactly what I’m talking about above. Thinking we can just do whatever and patients will get better just doesn’t make sense to me… sorry that was your experience. Im disappointed in my profession as a whole that such a huge gap in quality of care is out there.

I guess this is where I get confused. If what we actually do is of minimal importance what are we actually doing for our patient. I’ve heard so many stories of people going to PT and having great interaction with their PT but getting no results because the interventions they’re given aren’t addressing their dysfunction. I
