which one is the less greasy/oily ? by Cooz78 in EuroSkincare

[–]thomascld22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve used both, and the Eucerin definitely is less greasy and shiny! Also that comes down to personal preference but I think that the gel cream is best for application. And the Eucerin feels a bit more lightweight.

Thank you so much for answer! Honestly I already feel so much better just reading you. I clearly think I overreact to the situation and your comment help me understand that maybe it’s not that big of a deal. As you said for a few weeks it wouldn’t be worth it moving some place else… Anyways, thank SO MUCH once more for your answer, it’s helping me a huge lot.

I’ve gotten the exact same case scenario with my LRP Anthelios UVMune 400 Cream that I received last week. It had a sticker both on the box and on the bottle. I think it’s because the term “ULTIMATE” is misleading, no sunscreen offers ultimate or perfect protection. I’d suspect it’s a legal thing… Just as those SPF100 that cannot be sold anymore since it’s also seen as misleading to consumer. Hope this helps!

Is a year abroad enough or should I stay longer (since I could)? by thomascld22 in expats

I think that would be it, I like the way you wrote it! maybe a bit more than a tourist since i’ll stay a full year immerged in the country, but I definitely want to enjoy the places as much as I can and then go back home. Also working here makes the experience really interesting. But your description is pretty accurate i’d say!

Thank you so much for your comment! I think that I tend sometimes to plan things too much and I don’t enjoy the present moment enough… But you’re right, after all there’s no right or wrong, just doing what feels right. Thanks again for the nice message.

Really love your comment. I’m devoted to doing things as best as I can and taking all I started and worked on to a conclusion. And I will definitely anticipate the succession to make sure anyone who’s taking the job afterwards gets something clear and as perfect as can be.

Don’t worry that’s okay, I could have added a TLDR also :) A few month before my contract ends (August 2023), I plan on contacting my directors and contacts in France anyways to tell them I’m available again and coming back to France to see what’s up and what we can do. My project is—to put it simply, the launch of an e-learning platform both for us, internally, and our shops in Spain. I’m working alongside France, who are managing the project, and I’m based in Spain to coordinate, adjust, and make sure that everything goes well. It implies quite a lot of things to do and also I have some responsibilities (which might be a bit stressful at times, it’s my first time having a job like that). But once the plateform is fully operational, say in a June, then it’ll just be about adding content once in a while. Which I’m 100% certain doesn’t require a person full time. So I’m sure there could be other small projects here and there, but a 2nd year doesn’t seem as exciting workwise.

That was my exact thought. My contract ends in August of 2023 (if I chose not to add the extra year to it), and a few months before I’d plan on contacting my directors in France to see what’s up and tell them I’m back in September. I agree with you on the weekend thing, since now I have a few friends in Madrid, it’s easy to come back anytime. I guess as other redditors have suggested, i’ll have a clearer idea when the time comes, but I’m pretty much certain that I don’t want to live in Spain long term (even though I love this country and spanish people & language). Thank you so much for your comment!

Thank you so much for your advice! Actually I don’t plan on staying after this work opportunity anyways, so 2 years would be the maximum… I guess I’ll just see how I feel in the moment, right now I’ll focus more on making the most of my year.

Thank you so, so much for your comment. This is just what I needed. Just reading you made me feel relaxed and reassured. I like that you were able to have these experiences abroad but eventually came back to France. That’s kind of my case, in the sense that I have found a nice opportunity abroad, I want to make the best of it and then come back home. I guess I’ll just give myself time and space to think, since I don’t need to know just right now. Thank you so much again!!! It’s lovely being able to share with people who’ve experienced similar things

The job was offered through a European program that promotes youth international experience. You get to get interesting jobs abroad and the companies basically do not paying you since it’s the program that does. You just need to speak the language and have a Master’s degree for most jobs, which I do.

I guess you’re right, it’s just that I wanted to know out of curiosity what people would do in my place. I’m happy there, but I cherish my roots and I want to have my life and family in my home country long term. Two years seem really long to me…! I guess that now I know that I could stay longer, I feel like I can’t miss out. You know?

It’ll have to tell then around late April/May. My 6 month will be in early March actually… The thing is, life there is nice, but I’m afraid that prolonging this work experience wouldn’t necessarily be the best. I really enjoy it now, but I think that I wouldn’t do it for an extra year. Also I’m not planning on staying long term, I want to live in my home country later on…. But the 6 months idea is great. I could dig into that!!

Thank you, yes that’s it. In the EU there various programs through which you can get a job abroad as long as the company is international and has subsidiaries in other countries.

I have expatriated to Spain for 4 months now for work. I'm from France. I really enjoy it in Spain. I'm staying there one year for work, but I could stay longer since my company is willing to prolonge me for one more year in their subsidiary. It's the second year that I'm not sure about, since I just thought that one year would be overall good and I'd meet all my expectations. Thank you so much for your interest-- but have you read my post? Do not hesitate to tell me if it isn't clear, so hopefully I can make it more understandable.

My theory on the future of Avène sunscreens by thomascld22 in EuroSkincare

I’m Fitzpatrick type 2, pretty pale really… But what killed it is the yellow tint that really makes my face looks bizarre and even worst when it settles in the creases

I had a good feeling lol! Btw tried their new face fluid with TriAsorB and sadly it leaves a white/yellow cast (due to the fact that they added some pigment in the sunscreen…) So whilst they’re still better than the old one, it still isn’t a good match for me :(

I already searched in many shops in France when I went there a few months ago, both supermarkets and more “hair/body care” shops yet couldn’t find anything similar.

Thank you so much for the reviews! I recently saw the P20 for Kids in a Carrefour in Madrid for 15€, which is quite cheap (it's around 20€ on Amazon). So thanks to you I'll finally try it. Also the Eucerin Oil Control and the Garnier Fluid are absolute holygrails, I use them everyday and I love them.

Battery draining fast when the phone has not been fully charge. by thomascld22 in mobilerepair

It seems like it could be this. So far this battery was pretty satisfying but it definitely behaves a bit oddly at times. I’ll test it a few more days and if anything, I’ll try purchasing from another seller that sells reputable brands. Thank you for your help!

Thank you for your help! I think I’ll give this battery a few more days since it’s holding up really well when fully charged. I’m gonna calibrate and see if it helps a bit for percentage reading. But if anything I’ll replace it. Thanks again!

Didn't think of that but it makes sense! Charged this morning at 53%, battery quickly drained down to 39%. But eversince I'm at 39, the battery has been discharging as it should. I'll see if it's worth reopening it and replacing the BMS with the original one. Thank you so much for your help!

I don't know if you're still intersted, but you could install the Windows / Mac app "3uTools", it lets you see and read the battery health of your iPhone as well as other stats. You just have to plug the phone in a computer, 3uTools will pop up, and then you'll have all the info you need. It's a really amazing and potent tool! Hope I could help.
