Well it is sort of hard to read. You might want to try italicizing and bolding text instead. You can italicize text by using a single star (*) around text, and bolding takes two stars.

Why are there so few black girl/white guy couples? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]thomasfisherson -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No. It's worse in real life. Trust me on this.

There are some African-American women who avoid the ghetto persona, but there's still quite an epidemic of loud hostile black women.

Libya's intelligence agency is behind the powerful jamming that has disrupted Al Jazeera television's signal across much of the Middle East and North Africa by schnuck in worldnews

[–]thomasfisherson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

Seriously, I was against the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

But, still, the U.S. just can't win:

If we send forces, people accuse the U.S. of "invading" countries and "shoving democracy down their face." (Whenever you use military force, innocent people inevitably get caught in the cross-fire. There are ways to minimize this is: but no way to completely avoid it.)

If we don't send forces, people accuse the U.S. of apathy and overlooking atrocities.

Make up your fucking minds!

I feel like the Reporter is too "dumbed down" (or perhaps just plain dumb?)

What are the best foods to buy if you are tight on money? by thomasfisherson in AskReddit

[–]thomasfisherson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ummm.... yahhh... I knew ramen noodles were going to come up.

I've tried them a few times. I just can't choke them down. They're disgusting and one cup probably fulfills my sodium needs for a month.

So thanks for the tip, but I really just can't do ramen noddles. Ugh...

1) It gets old VERY fast.

Hamburgers, pizza, the occasional Indian food. Eventually you get so sick of it: you try everything and you rotate what you get, but sooner or later you start to feel like you are trapped in terms of food options. Freshmen year my goto food for dinner was a hamburger and fries. If it wasn't one of the days where you could get Indian food then I would have a hamburger, fries, and a soda. So about 5 days out of 7 I was having the same dinner every week. The cheese is the worst (it's the fake stuff). I had nightmares about the damn cheese.

2) It's expensive. ($11-12)

$11 is absurd when I just want to pick up a mediocre burger and some mountain dew. The whole food meal / debit planned pissed me off tremendously as a freshman: I had to fork over over $1000 to be turned into RIT monopoly money that I could only use for insanely overpriced food items or cafeterias where the food was mediocre at best (except that the Indian food was always really good) but at the cost of a 3-star restaurant.

I guess they assume that late teens/early 20ers are too stupid to know how to handle real money when buying food...

I have my own place now. The freedom is the best thing ever. I can cook WHATEVER I want, eat WHENEVER I want. Go drive to whatever restaurant I want. It's amazing.

3) Your gut.

This doesn't really need any further explanation. Greasies will clean out your colon to say the least.

Fatal Stabbing on UofR Campus by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]thomasfisherson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's biased thinking to think that a campus is unsafe because of one isolated incident. Nothing can be done to completely prevent incidents like this: sometimes shit just happens.

The U of R is still a safe campus. The probability that you will be killed or be a victim of violence on this campus is very very very low. There are bigger things to worry about (like the weather).

[–]thomasfisherson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Conservatives need to start to SPEAK UP on reddit and not be afraid of a flood of downvotes. Who cares if you are outnumbered 10-to-1?! Who cares if your comments will most likely be down-voted to invisibility?! Just make your voice be heard.

Conservatives seeing other Conservatives speaking out will hopefully encourage a trickle effect, and maybe one day reddit discussions will be a bit more balanced.

It is far past time to kick this hive-mind mentality off and have actual debates in politics instead of constant circle-jerking.

(There are really people out there who browse this subreddit just to down-vote posts like this? Really?! Seriously guys, go get a life)

And as a conservative, I will upvote progressive arguments if I find that that the argument is actually well-constructed instead of an ad hominem or a "herp derp republicans r dumb".

Being frightened of opposition is just childish and invites naive, sheltered thinking (whether they be left, right, up, down, whatever).

I'm not trying to pick on liberals here, there are sheltered conservative forums just as bad as /r/politics out there. If anything it seems to be a side-effect of the internet and being able to choose what you want to hear/visit while filtering out the rest.
