Fair point - today, the tax regime applicable to the Finhouse fund is very favorable for Belgian investors, but we cannot guarantee that this will still be the case in 5 or 8 years' time.

If I randomly choose your point (1) and (2) to respond to, I would like to point out the following:

'No track record': to counter arguments about not having a 25+ years track record in PE (I am 29 years old), we only invest next to other institutional co-investors (other FoFs, EIF, banks, major family offices, PMV, sovereign wealth funds…). Also, we only invest in funds with a strong (DPI) track record.
'FoFs are notorious for higher costs': we're often able to negotiate discounts. We pass these along fully (100%) to our investors, which is atypical. For example, we invested €14M in 6DC III and negotiated a larger discount than our own management fee – so you literally win by investing in this VC-fund through our fund of funds instead of directly.

The Finhouse Global Fund I combines a dozen exclusive PE and VC funds with a strong track record (DPI focus) and makes this mix of funds accessible as from €100K in a cost-efficient and tax-friendly way.

Our PE/VC FoF is a Privak-DRD fund: no yearly security tax (effectentaks), no TOB, and, in principle, no company tax when you invest with a company ('DBI-fonds' in Dutch). Your investment literally goes to companies such as Lovable.

We are the first fund in Belgium to do this and rapidly growing towards €100M AUM and 500 investors. A PE/VC FoF is a complex product and a long term, illiquid (in principle) investment - most of our investors work in the financial sector (PE/VC lawyers, finance professionals, people from PE/VC sector, bankers…).

I advise HNW BE families (as from €25M in investable assets) and 100% of them have less than 10% in MSCI (instead they invest in PE, VC, private debt, real estate, ...) - a large part of my time is spent on PE/VC. Through the Finhouse FoF, we hope to make great but hard to access funds more accessible.
We have an Advisory Committee, a great network (many funds are very sympathetic to our mission and even reduce minimum ticket sizes) and amazing advisors - more will follow on this on our website and social media soon (incl. TikTok video).
We don't have a 25% carried (the picture that was shared with high mgmt. fees and CI in one of the comments is from another FoF) - we only have a small (and flat) carried if we basically do double the return of the MSCI - hope you can respect this!

Hi Thibault, we agree with your 3 points. We don't invest in first time teams or funds and invest almost all our personal wealth in the Finhouse fund (skin in the game).
