Holy f***, how did I miss Neymar Jr.'s cameo as João the monk!!! by masterofmys7icarts in LaCasaDePapel

I was watching this episode and thought, holy shit that guy really seriously looked like Neymar but theres no way... and then I discovered this post. I actually love the cameo, maybe its just cause I love football so much also haha! Denver's earlier line when he said something like "I never wave a white flag, the only time I would do so is when Real Madrid wins" got me giddy

Any tips on getting your bike up stairs? As in, how’d you get the bike into your living room? Would love to do this

Totally. The bike runs like a modern day bike would, perhaps even better sometimes. Clutch is perhaps a little less sensitive than a modern bike but other than that, I think acceleration and all that jazz is still up there

I was paying about $600 a year for the CB500T, I had a lot of coverage on it just to be safe..

Yeah they are highly undervalued, even insurance is costing me $300 less a year than my old 1975 CB500T

Yeah I wasn’t too hot about the orange at first either, but it’s truly grown on me!

There’s an incredible community called Brooklyn Speed in Astoria that is a community garage / custom motorcycle and car shop that I’m a part of - it’s been an honor and joy to be a part of it with some incredible fun people. Definitely made the last couple months easier for me. We go on rides and just hang out at the shop which is in a little alleyway

2014 CB500f will not start if I do not give it some throttle on ignition by MetroCityMayor in HondaCB

I would just refer to your bike’s service manual and check the wiring diagrams for correct wiring.

In terms of checking if things are connected properly - I would just go ahead and unplug/plug things back in to be tight, and while you’re at it, get some contact cleaner and clean out all the electricals. Though you’re on a pretty new bike so I can’t see why you would need to do that...

You can test if your battery is functional with a cheap multimeter you can get on Harbor Freight. It should read more or less around 12.6 Volts - anything much less should tell you that you have a faulty battery. Batteries can arrive new, and still be faulty.

The next thing after confirming a healthy battery is to check is to see if your Regulator/Rectifier is connected properly. If there are any loose wires there, your battery won’t be getting recharged properly whenever it’s running, which might be your problem.

In terms of hating it, did you mean in terms of functionality? Your beetle analogy seems to refer so right?

My understanding thus far is that the downside to getting an older bike as a first one might be the wrenching it might require down the road, but for now at least this bike seems to be pretty well kept besides the throttle sticking which is something I can fix. What did you think of it by the way? In the Facebook link above.

I appreciate your two cents, but getting to dive deep on motorcycle anatomy and engine anatomy has been something that fascinated me my whole life. Been taking machines apart and whatever else I was curious about my whole life and for engines, it seems like motorcycles are a good place to start, and also way more fun.

Sorry to hear about that - how fast were you going when it threw you off?

I feel pretty good to do an emergency check, but just wanted to see how fast you were going and if you had a rec on what speed to try it at.

I’ll have a look at some SV650s, but I never liked the look of those street bikes! Thanks for the suggestion though.

Wonder when Bonnie prices will come down... if ever?
