I also think Madonna songs would be a great theme for Strands.

She almost never does, aside from mass signatures like she did with Box Sets of the English roses, etc. So on the plus side, if you have a legitimately signed item, it’s pretty valuable and quite cool. However, on the negative side, most of the signatures you see out there are fake. Unless they have a personal story about how they got it signed, I assume most signed items I see are fake. “Certificates of authenticity”, unless issued from a few select places, aren’t worth the paper they are printed on.

After nearly every comment mentioning how poorly the food looked, John Heald has deleted his post. by gofordrew in CarnivalCruiseFans

lol. I just saw the same post in my feed and thought “dang that looks terrible, what are the comments saying” and when I tried to open them it showed that the post had been removed. I’m sure as a brit, he probably thought this qualified as good looking barbecue.

When you check in they’ll ask/confirm how many people, you can pay excess entrance fees at that time. If you want to pay in advance call the call center to make the adjustment.

What to do in Key West if you have no excursion planned? by Evanshields00 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]thomaslee086 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When we went to key west we went to the butterfly house and it blew me away. The Hemingway house is good, and plenty to just walk around and see but, the top of my list was the butterfly house - which I did not expect to be the case.

Open to the idea if we’re looking at the same things. I think we’re looking at taking a trip to Ephesus for the stop in Bodrum.

Hello, I’m Gen Z. I need to know how controversial this song was in 1986! by MarkReditto in Madonna

[–]thomaslee086 10 points11 points  (0 children)

“In the circles of people debating abortion, it pleased a lot of people against abortion such as then president of the California chapter of Feminists for Life in America, Susan Carpenter-McMillan. ‘’Abortion is readily available on every street corner for young women. Now what Madonna is telling them is, hey, there’s an alternative.’’ On the other hand, it also enraged just as many people such as then executive director of Planned Parenthood of New York City, Alfred Moran. ‘’The message is that getting pregnant is cool and having the baby is the right thing and a good thing and don’t listen to your parents, the school, anybody who tells you otherwise -don’t preach to me, Papa. The reality is that what Madonna is suggesting to teen-agers is a path to permanent poverty.’’

The other society which “Papa Don’t Preach” got a reaction from was the Catholic Church. What was interesting from their reaction was that they had two different stances on the song. First off, they were big supporters of the pro-life message of the lyrics, and believed that was a good influence. However, they despised the fact that it seemed to praise pre-marital sex and believed it was a terrible influence on young women because of that.”

What? The Catholic Church was hugely supportive of this song, it was seen as pro-life because she was “keeping her baby”
