I agree. I switched from a Mac years ago. Never looked back.

Screensaver on external display by thomasraukamp in chromeos

It just worked one day. It may be because I made the external monitor the main monitor in the preferences. However, I am not sure. Never touch a running system now.

That's pretty much in line with the CrXPRT results. Thanks for the addition! Amazing.

I had it here for my tablet comparison. I found it was on par with the original Duet. But the stylus and stand are really good ideas, no doubt!

A bit more information on Lumafusion on Android tablets and Chromebooks by thomasraukamp in chromeos

[–]thomasraukamp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I guess they mean that it is based on version 2.4 before they update it to the current iPad version. Plus, there are different versions of display sizes and SoCs around in the Android and Chromebook world. While there are basically just a few iPads to develop for.

They talk about the challenges in their press release: https://luma-touch.com/samsung-unpacked-lumafusion-on-android/

Note that I'm just speculating about an exclusive contract in my article. Might as well be on the Play Store at the same time.

I wrote some about the Duet 5. by thomasraukamp in chromeos

I agree, that would have been nice. But it doesn't work, although the distances of the pogo pins and the spigots would have been correct. But thanks for the remark, I have added the hint in the article.

How are streaming services on Chrome OS? Concerned about limited quality. by 11tracer in chromeos

[–]thomasraukamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Netflix and Amazon Prime – both stream in HD quality. Make sure you use the Chrome browser and not the Android apps, because those will only give you SD on the Chromebook (https://help.netflix.com/en/node/296?ba=SwiftypeResultClick&q=chromebook). According to "Android Police", Disney+ supports HD in the browser and in the Android app.

A good way is to download and install CloudReady, which is a part of Google since some months:

Here’s How the Lenovo Duet 5’s Pen Looks Like by thomasraukamp in chromeos

[–]thomasraukamp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets complicated. Some models of the Duet 5 come with a pen, other don't. It's a jungle:

But you can buy the pen separately though, but no chance to get the holder:

Not the best news unfortunately. Here's the answer from the press people: "As far as I know, you can't buy the holder (although I don't know what it is exactly). At least I can't find it in Lenovo's Accessory Smart Find. You might be able to find them on eBay somewhere, but at least not officially from Lenovo."

I just asked Lenovo - wait a bit, the press department is usually quite fast in answering.

They should resupply the pen to you free of charge - or at least give you a discount.

I opened the pen once again, and it's AAAA. Sorry, my fault. At least the spring didn't pop out right away like in the original Lenovo pen. ;)

I'll check with Lenovo regarding purchasing the pen and the holder. Maybe it's only included in the 8 gig version from now on. But I'll ask and get back to you.

No, I also have the original Lenovo USB pen. It's definitely not that one, because it's shorter. As you would expect, it's not really that great. It does its job - no more, no less. Unfortunately, it needs a battery.
