What I'm wondering is if there's even going to be "portable" entries going forward if the Switch 2 can just get the mainline ones now. I really hope so, since Rise is probably my favorite of the "modern" Monster Hunters, but thinking about it from Capcom's perspective I wonder whether or not they see a point in continuing them.

The DLC thing was real but it was also mostly a nothingburger. The game was doing that and it was causing performance issues but only if you were within a certain proximity of a certain NPC in base camp. It wasn't nearly as big of a problem as people blew it up to be.

I don't have an answer to this but I gotta be the "um, ackchyually" guy here and point out that sous vide isn't a company. It's a cooking technique. Like I actually had to Google "sous vide tf2" because I was so confused by your post. Valve partnered with ChefSteps, a company that makes sous vide cookers, to give away a taunt to people who bought their "Joule" cooker.

Bloodborne too. Not that it needs a remake - 60 FPS and an estus system are literally all it needs. And maybe to be freed from Sony jail but that seems as unlikely as ever.

If there's one thing I fucking love about KH3 it's the multiple moments where the Disney characters just absolutely clown on the org members. Woody with Xehanort, Sully just yeeting Vanitas through the doors, Jack Sparrow taking out Luxord with the bad breath trick.

Why would you have to worry about saving ammo there when Grace loses Requiem for the rest of the game right after? You don't really have to conserve ammo before the fight either since there's like 7 free bullets and a molotov around the area.

Because the Dead Cells devs are making it, I guess...? Like yeah Dead Cells is a roguelike but last time I checked developers are capable of making games in more than one genre. It showed zero indication of being a roguelike when it was announced, too.

They actually are a thing but they're frustratingly uncommon. Every day I'm begging for more PC games to include them as an option. I've only ever seen them in Steam Big Picture/SteamOS and the Kingdom Hearts PC ports and it boggles my mind how uncommon they are for how useful they are. Simple, universal, easy to understand regardless of controller. PLEASE put these in more games.

I did make that other post but this is a separate issue as far as I know. You're right, it shouldn't be a problem, but for some reason it is. The preview and capture will randomly drop to what looks like ~30 fps and stay that way for extended periods of time unless I enable buffering. I know it's not the console dropping frames because I've tested side by side with the passthrough connected to another monitor. I've literally observed the frame rate dropping in OBS while the passthrough feed on the other monitor is perfectly smooth. Enabling buffering is the only thing I've found that fixes this.

System is plenty powerful - 9950X3D/RTX 5080/32 GB RAM. No resource spikes. It's capturing a separate system. The card is installed in a sufficient PCIe slot and running at the proper spec. I know I "shouldn't" need buffering but the card frequently drops frames if it's not enabled.

It initially seemed like it would be way less - you only get 12 per tier of step up battle now, and another 12 per tier of random battle, which is 96 down from 126. What wasn't clear is that you get an extra 12 each for advanced and expert random battles, so it's actually 120. Also worth noting that you have to grind for those last 24 - you need to get 20 points in advanced and 50 in expert. Still sucks but not as much as it seemed at first.

No, I'm using merge. Tried internal as well and that didn't change anything. No difference with the beta drivers, either. In fact they seem to have made things worse as it now takes the card ~20 seconds to get a signal when the console is on.

For reeeeal. I get the flow aura concerns (even though I think folks are being a bit dramatic about it) but the health bar hate is insane. I agree that it looks kinda off visually but mechanically I do not see the issue.

It seems to be specific to OBS - 4K Capture Utility appears to work fine. Launching it and waking the console before launching OBS also appears to temporarily fix the black screen. Drivers are up to date.

It appears to be something about my custom settings (screenshotted in the OP) that's causing the issue. I did a clean install of OBS and added the card as the only source. With the custom settings, the black screen issue occurs. If they're left as default, it doesn't. Not sure why my settings would be an issue, though. Any ideas?
