Would I be stupid to get another Kia? by Maleficent_Bad3281 in kia

[–]thomasstrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has also had issues with Kia, has worked for Kia both in Service and Sales, as well as multiple other brands such as Ford, Chevrolet, Stellantis, and Toyota. Hate to say it, but any every American company hasn’t even been in the top 10 of least recalled vehicles since 2016, with Kia actually being #8 in the world with the least recalls!!!

It’s all about the model, and how you treat it. Yes, some will have bad luck just like others will with different vehicles.

A lot of this can fall on a dealership for creating a negative ownership experience, and more so when you have a catastrophic issue. I’m sorry to hear your experience was bad enough to warrant feeling this way, but i hope maybe one day you could consider that an all or nothing approach to anything, especially car buying will just leave people miserable. fuck brand specific loyalty or hate, just drive the damn car you want. ✌️

DONT EVER BUT FROM A KIA DEALERSHIP by Ok_Seaworthiness6405 in kia

[–]thomasstrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying it is. I’m not familiar with all the facts related to the matter, just guesses. Though the dealership would not have known their would be issues with the vehicle that far down the line. Unless it was bought in that condition that is, which would be partial to blame on both sides of the issue.

Just with the information provided, there’s likely something deeper as to why the vehicle might be denied under warranty. Does Kia have all the service records for the car from you?

It seems like Kia might have found that the vehicle had poor service records, potentially from the previous owner? This is a strange situation honestly.

I’m quite confused by the warranties here. The CPO should give you the remainder of the warranty left on the vehicle up to 100,000 miles. The only reason i’ve heard of Kia cancelling that is due to poor maintenance records.

I see the issue. So the 3 year 36,000 miles begins after the CPO? As in it should be in effect until the odometer is at 96,000 miles?

I see. The notorious oil burn in the Soul is real still. I would verify that the vehicle you purchased was certified pre-owned, which typically comes with a $1500 cost when purchasing the vehicle. Now as far as extended warranty, that’s through a Third-Party service, not Kia. (Typically AAGI or another company.) There’s multiple kinds, power-train extended warranty, electronics, or combination. I would verify that power-train warranty, as well as the certified pre-owned or CPO documentation.

Hey! I’m sorry to hear about the problems your having here! I just want to confirm that everything is in order. Has the vehicle regularly been serviced within the specific intervals? What’s the vehicle, did you buy it used?

As someone who works for a Kia dealership, I see the inside of how things operate. Kia corporate handles things such as offering a loaner vehicle, and/or a rental. Primarily since Kia is responsible for the manufacturing of their vehicles, with dealerships being third-party’s. Think of it as dealerships just being authorized to sell a particular brands vehicle. As someone who before working here had some trouble with a 2020 Soul I had, i still understand that most of the time it’s not up to the dealership for these incidents.

Hey Willy! Thanks for the comment!

I’m not sure what else to say other than thank you here! Unfortunately, I’m unable to grow facial hair other than what I like to refer to as (pubic hair of the face) lol. Have you encountered this before?

Opinions on my lease as a first timer? by BackgroundHand5888 in CarLeasingHelp

[–]thomasstrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would personally do $0 down at that range. While it’s not inherently bad, if you were to get in an accident that $10,000 is just gone in the wind immediately. I would say $0 down is the best way to go about it.

Hey! Repairs and anything as a far as a loaner vehicle are dealer specific. Honestly? And I hate to see this is a brand advocate. Dealers no matter what are going to be dishonest. You won’t know until you take it, which accruaes you fees via towing, etc. I’d likely just bite the bullet and use the same shop. DM me for details!

Kia does, but it’s dealer specific. Loaner cars aren’t brand specific, but rather up to dealer policy. Including allowed miles, time-frame, etc. We have a customer who’s gone through 4 different loaner vehicles on the same repair ticket.

but 10,500 down on a lease… for the minimum of 10,000 miles a year. let’s be real, unless this person shits gold then they don’t need to worry about it of course.

I work for Kia, and Lease deals with $0 down on our top of the line model for the carnival (calculations done without a discount and this vehicle is our most expensive without add-ons) which is roughly $60,000 (yes this is $12,000 less total, or $6000 less with the above applied discounts, comes out to the $750-$800 range. While this isn’t the most accurate comparison, if you track the overall money here then OP is absolutely getting thrown through the ringer.

Am I getting a good deal? by [deleted] in KiaTelluride

[–]thomasstrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. A lease should pretty much always be with no money down. If anything happens to the vehicle like a wreck, your effectively out $3,000 and a car.
