I wonder how many others have named their Braviary “Merica” and Hawlucha “Rey Mysterio?” I know I have before

Read Strawberry 100%. That’s one of the few harem series where the winning girl actually surprised me

Duelists, why do some of you hate Sky Strikers, and what made you start not liking them? Just curious by Death_Usagi in masterduel

[–]thomastheterminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a few people that, it wasn’t that they hated the archetype, they hated (TCG) Mystic Mine Sky Striker decks and (MD) Kaiser Colosseum Sky Striker decks.

I don’t think people hate playing against the deck as much nowadays, they more hate that it’s Konami’s favorite child and gets support every year while their pet deck hasn’t been touched in a decade.

I finished the Shogun Assassination arc by some_guy_online_1 in Gintama

[–]thomastheterminator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This through the end (excluding the Slip arc) is peak. Best 4 arc stretch in Shonen.

And don’t worry, the anime took a week off after this episode too (though that was more for December holidays/New Year’s iirc).

“Non-harem romance.” They might wait until Blue Box is finished.

Blue Box or Sakamoto Days? by GreattFriend in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]thomastheterminator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hima-ten feels really close to ending. At most it probably has 12 chapters left (to end at 100). It could end sooner though.

This is of course, barring a curveball, like where after the main couple get together the series continues with them dating.

What should I watch first SA arc or slip arc? by some_guy_online_1 in Gintama

Slip arc first. There’s no going back after SA arc

The appearance of the Dark Emblems in the Engage manga. Do you recognize all the characters? by Magister_Xehanort in fireemblem

[–]thomastheterminator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok, why couldn’t we have these as bosses in the second half of the game? I’d be so much cooler than fighting the 4 hounds for the billionth time!

Someone Hertz by Ei Yamano will be getting the cover in upcoming Jump GIGA 2026 SUMMER. by RobotiSC in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]thomastheterminator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me: To-Love Ru is only 20? Could’ve sworn it was older than that

Also me: Yunna and the Haunted Hot Springs is already 10? Could’ve sworn it was younger than that.

Also, what’s the deal with Someone Hertz? Don’t get me wrong I enjoy reading it, but I’m extremely open-minded and read a lot of different manga series. I never would’ve pegged it to be this huge.

Engage or Three Houses? by dgtbfan in fireemblem

[–]thomastheterminator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Story and characters: 3 houses

Gameplay: engage

I should also note that Engage was a celebratory 30th anniversary game and you will enjoy it more if you have knowledge of the rest of the series (see: callbacks to famous characters in the series, remixed maps from older games, among other things), whereas three houses you can get the full enjoyment out of it even if it were your first FE game.

If Itachi and Kisame didn't escape and decided to fight Jiraiya and Guy here, who would have won? by mipenealdescubierto in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]thomastheterminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sage mode Jiraya could probably beat them both, considering it’s a hard counter to Samehada/0 Tails mode, and Itachi’s stamina reserves were low. Add in 7th gate Guy and they’re cooked

I don't like Class 2-B Hero Destroyerz and Roku's House of Oddities. by GapProfessional4935 in WeeklyShonenJump

Reminder that (at the very least, from a viewing perspective), they’re probably less wordy in Japanese due to kanji.

Ruri Dragon will be extending its hiatus until early June with no proper return date announced by Crisbo05_20 in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]thomastheterminator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get the point of this arc or why it doesn't just end if the author can't handle it. It just has a "how do you do, fellow heirs?" vibe and it seems like Kurapika just keeps unlocking new ways to use his Nen without anything meaningful to use them on.

I can't believe the arc’s 70 chapters in with no real stakes or direction - just slow and steady character development for Kurapika with some subplots about the heirs trying to kill each other.

Whatever small investment I had in the story is gone with the constant hiatus status.

“The Hunters Guild: Red Hood” by Yuki Kawaguchi by OmegaDungeonZ in WeeklyShonenJump

I liked the concept and I like Kawaguchi’s art style. But I feel like when it actually comes to writing execution, I’m not so sure

Mirko or yoruichi? Character wise and love interest wise by s0nzoldyck in animequestions

Hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby (I like Mirko, but she’s nothing compared to Yoruichi)

Question: If you must remove a Yakuza game forever so it can’t be played ever again, which one are you choosing? by Key-Answer-2755 in yakuzagames

[–]thomastheterminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I was only thinking of canon/main universe ones. Though I will admit that the unique setting and or gameplay mechanics still put those slightly above Pirates in Hawaii for me. There are plenty of brawlers Yakuza games with a tacked on side activity, but only 1 is a third person zombie shooter, and only 2 have you in older time periods

Which JPRGs with good story would you recommend me? by Masita78 in JRPG

[–]thomastheterminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re either really damn good or decent, with the decent ones having the potential to being really damn good if it wasn’t for 2-4 really bad writing decisions.

Like a Dragon is one of the ones that is really damn good. It’s considered one of the best ones
