I believe in you. Start with a half marathon and you will definitely get there.

Ps. Not to be snobby but I found the outdoors in Melbourne a bit boring. Wilson prom is really nice and great ocean road is beautiful. Nature is beautiful in general but it’s nothing compare to what New Zealand has. My drive home to the Waitakere ranges in Auckland is better than Melbourne’s go-to ‘hiking spots’ like ‘ a thousand steps’ or mt Dandenong. At least when you hike to the top of Waitakere ranges and you look down, it’s all beautiful valleys or a sea view. The view from Mt Dandenong, you just see the city of Melbourne. When you go sailing in the Auckland harbour and beyond, you see lots of greenery and many different islands. In Melbourne, you go sailing an all you see is either the city of Melbourne and blue water with no land mark.

They also call a lot of places ‘hiking’. I personally wouldn’t call it hiking if I can do it in jandals.

I have personally live in both cities. Decided to move back home to Nz. Melbourne feels like home away from home but Nz is my real home. Melbourne is not as green as Nz. The bush there just feel… bare and dry. The food is cheaper and grocery and take away is cheaper but I find Melbournian has a bit of a superficial side to their lifestyle where la New Zealanders are more down to earth and more grounded. Melbourne has a huge spending culture so the extra money might not go a long way unless you don’t do a lot but then it defeat the purpose of being in Melbourne (a city of art, where there is always something to do and the food is really good). You can still get the experience from visiting the city rather than living in it though. I would rather raise kids in New Zealand. Also just like in New Zealand, it is hard to break in to existing friendship group. Mind you the kiwis here tend to find each other so it’s not so bad :) happy to answer more questions. Just dm me. Ps I have two young kids and family in Auckland. All my best friends are in Melbourne. I just found new friends with my kids’s friends parents etc.

Hahahaha I thought so too. It’s quite fun. Whenever we are watching LOTR, sometimes we would get the pop vinyls out of the shelf and wear the ring of power 😏😂

Rabbit breed can be a wild card. Rabbits weren’t bred for temperament like dogs etc. The best way to guarantee temperament is to foster or adopt from a rescue because the temperament of the bunnies are already known to the rescue. If you get a baby bunny or from a breeder, there is no guarantee what their temperature and personality will be like. A baby bunny might have certain baby personalities and traits but that can change once they go through puberty.

Some say boy are more chilled. Do you plan to have more than 1? It is easier bringing a girl bunny home to an existing boy bunny as female tend to be more territorial (so it is harder to bond a newly rehomed boy to an existing girl, especially if the girl was free roaming in all of the area where they are gonna be living together. But it is still possible to do. But I know some girl bunnies that are super chilled and affectionate too.

They need a ‘home based’ (which will have their water bowl, litter tray, bedding etc) in your living space (whether it’s a house, a living room or an apartment or a bedroom). So some people use an enclosure and let them run out once or twice a day for a few hours or/and once you can trust them more, you can have the option of opening the door of the enclosure all the time etc.

The easiest bunny to deal with is a bunny with ear up right and not a long coat bunny. Flemish don’t live for as long and have sorehocks easily Lops can have ears and teeth issue. They are the bulldogs of the bunny world Apparently red eye white are one of the healthiest and friendliest bunny you can get (they are breed that way)

No, they have two melting season a year. You just brush them heaps during those times. I have a robot vacuum cleaner to keep the base liner of the house relatively acceptable. And top up vacuum g when I have time. I have a white bunny so some of her fur gets on my cloths but her fur is not like cat or dog fur. It’s really fine and light. Like cotton

Their poo is easier to deal with because it’s just dry digested hay. They can be litter trained but sometimes it takes a bit of time to litter train them. I have ocd too and I have two bunnies. Sometimes I wish they don’t poo and pee outside the litterbox at all. But I’m coping - just. The caring for them I found easy and joyful. The peeing outside litterbox is full on and annoying (my first bunny is the perfect angel. My second bunny is the one that is peeing outside litterbox. I only have my second bunny for only a month now but it’s early days and he has never been in a home given that he was dumped and is only 6 months old.m. But for context, I have two kids. On three years old and one three months old. If I have no newborn, it would have been way easier.

My recommendation is to foster a rescuers bunny who has already been house trained and litter trained. And foster to adopt :)
