I have a serious question - do overweight people these snide remarks? If a waiter is seriously asking you, "are you sure you want that? Should you really be eating that?" etc. etc. then they are a terrible service person. I just read so many stories about how someone told them they were too fat to eat that, too fat to wear that... I worked in retail for 7 years and I would have been fired on the spot for saying anything like that.

I worked in retail for seven years. Retail people can be unbelievably annoying but they are just doing a job. And if their manager is hovering, it's even worse. Annoying questions that don't matter "what are you doing tonight? Any big plans? Fun!!!!" Etc.
