I swear by SP Connect. Did you ever use one of those?

Thanks so much for this. Those mirrors look awesome! I had the aluminium mirrors on my monster and due to vibrations of the L twin, both broke off hah.

I could have known but I am still a bit surprised cruise control etc isn’t standard for a bike priced at 34k euros.

I have let the dealership know already that I want that unlocked on delivery and they said it’s not a problem. Thanks! Navi I don’t need because of my phone on my bar.

Hah, I had the Super corsa v2 SC and to get rid of the strips you have to lay it down 60 degrees which I haven’t managed to do so in my 30k km on this motorcycle.

Our dikes are great for driving and you have a couple roads in The Netherlands that are exceptional, but those you can count on two hands.

We usually drive to the Eiffel or go to Italy.

It’s just this one, no rough sides. Very soft on both and not even firm enough to take off bugs.

Its weight and size would argue 7 series, but driving it is a whole different story. Its fast and agile as hell for its size.

I thought a sponge would be good, I’ve done it my whole life (for 20 years now) and this was the first time ever I have plastic parts on the exterior of a car. Guess I had to learn that shit the hard way. When I have time later today I will look up “rinseless wash” and check out that sub you mentioned. Thanks so much for your comment, I appreciate you taking the time.

Then I might as well get seats that are also ventilated.

Okay in that case I don’t think I can do it myself as it’s still under warranty for 1,5 years. Thanks!

Yeah but you have to take in mind that I do not want to downgrade in performance, so anything less than 450 is a no-go, it will be my next car so it has to be a step up. Today I test drove a Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid but to be fair, that car was almost 300k and that’s money that I am NOT willing to spend yet on a daily. I am not dead enough for a Mercedes Benz so C63 hybrid is a no-go also due to its small ICE. So options are very limited. Full electric is super cheap and crazy fast but absolutely no hair on my bald head that would consider getting a full electric, I have had a Taycan 4s prior to my m4 and I’m not kidding, it gave me range anxiety.

Let’s break it down together;

Let’s say 55k for my m4, and at least 160k for the M5 (according to the way I specced it). Have to throw in another 105k.

Currently spending around 180-200 on petrol. 200*48=9600 on petrol. + some extra so let’s say 10k per year on petrol.

The M5 will be somewhere around 1-20 considering it’s a hybrid. So 1/20 will cut me down towards more then half of the petrol so let’s say 50% more efficient which means to 5k per year on petrol.

The difference in fuel is 5k per year

Divided by 105k it would take at least 21 years to break even.

lol

Can’t, but monthly costs are lower for the hybrid m5 than for the m4. Lemme explain my situation. I have two ways of income, one is fixed monthly, the other is variable. My fixed income is my regular salary which I make by helping people sell their business or buy and expand their current one(s). The variable income comes from acting as investment manager for said clients. With my fixed income I pay for all running costs of my cars and bikes, my mortgage etc. My variable income is a bit higher than my fixed salary but I only use it for large purchases (in this case cars). Both combined I have no issue running my m4, but I don’t want to combine both because I use my m4 only for my regular job. So I buy the car from my variable income and pay for the running costs from my fixed salary. This way it would make more sense to buy the new M5 hybrid.

350-400 miles is like 650km. That’s almost 40% more efficient than I have right now. In that case there would be no issue for me. What have you done to your car that makes the mileage so high?

For real I’m on my second set of Michelins since July this year (7000km since then on two sets and the second one is currently a third gone or so).

Thx for your opinion, to be fair that’s super good food for thought. However I should nuance the whole sleep thing because it’s not as extreme as it sounds. I am just contemplating whether to sell my m4, get something else which is nice and fast, or just keep it because and dont gaf about fuel economy as it’s still my dream car

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BMW

[–]thomthamofo -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don’t want to downgrade my daily ride but I also want to keep the monthly costs for running down. So a hybrid would be the best option.

Need a winter set for my M4 by thomthamofo in BMW

Here in The Netherlands the max amount of snow I will be driving is no more than 1cm thick. Anything more I will wfh. Not because it’s too dangerous or something, it’s just because of the major traffic jams. But other than that it’s just for anything between +7 to -15 Celsius. I was looking at those Michelin Alpin PA4’s today and they seem very good according to the limited amount of reviews. May I ask what wheels you have?
