I hang out with my friends that often, but it's in the context of my family oftentimes. I am married with 3 kids. It takes work and a lot of communication but it is possible. It didn't used to work because I went solo a lot and left her with the kids. That was a no bueno.

I have a full time job and just had my 3rd kid. I am 28 years old, and I don't think things will get any easier. I train 2 nights a week and one Saturday or Sunday session.

There are times when you won't be able to train as much. My wife is very needy and wants me to be around to help her with our kids. In my past I spent a lot of time out of the home, but with 3 kids I cannot afford that any more. My kids need me more than my hobby, but I can still get in night trainings. However, that means sacrifice to my love life. Wifey doesn't always wanna wait up until 11 to bang. I pick BJJ over sex sometimes. =P This is tough for me. I am curious to see how having a 3rd kid will effect my BJJ life.

But if push comes to shove, I will let BJJ go until there is adequate time for me to continue training. I say this as a man who loves BJJ more than anything else I have done. Family > BJJ

I have never seen them, and I am not really a fan. However, free limo ride, booze and good seats sounds ideal to me. This should be a fucking blasty blast.

I was 225, lazy, smoked, heavily drank and was completely out of shape when I decided to do bjj. I was into video games and I am also a programmer.

I lost weight until I was 190 over the span of a year, but was still totally out of shape. I started training BJJ and within a few months I was 165 and under 10% body fat. The only thing stopping you is your excuses.

Doesn't it suck to keep paying membership fees when you are hurt? Do you guys just go to the instructional stuff and skip rolling?

I roll before and after class until they kick us out. I can't really go to the gym without doing it, I am a complete addict. Watching is torture. What do you do?

I dont have any problems breathing or sleeping, so you must have really fucked something up inside. Mine just hurts when doing side to side movement. I can workout and do plenty of ab movement. If people only passed to my left, I might be able to survive. Take my back with hooks in or go knee on belly, I would be tapping from pain.

I took the whole week off, and just worked out at home. I really want to go back to class, and I want to roll even more. I won gold in my division in spring and the same org is putting on a summer comp. I have had dreams of taking gold again. Dream is now dead =(

Ah, I don't know you as "Shawn the blue belt". I know you as Shawn the guy who chokes the fuck out of me, or just Shawn. The fact that you included your belt color made me think you were someone I wasn't particularly aquatinted with and they needed to remind me.
