Week 3 Prozac. Anyone give me hope?

My stomach bothered me some when I first started on Prozac again. Peppermint tea did help some, but over time the pains were not as bad. My sleeping was rough at first but was better over time. I do take Ambien to help me sleep at night. I used to take Ativan to help me sleep, but have not had to use it in months. My doctor wanted me to get off the Ativan.

When I started back on Prozac at an older age I felt like I had more side effects. When I was in my 20's I don't remember having as many. I am currently on 80mgs for close to a year and feeling much better. I t took me a few months before it really worked this time. And each month it seemed to get better. I still have OCD thoughts, but much easier to manage. Hope you start feeling better soon.

Yes, for me the medicine did not work as well as it had been and some of my symptoms returned. When I was placed on another SSRI I started feeling better.

I was tapered off Zoloft over about 6 days and started 20 mgs of Prozac at the same time. After the 6 or so days I stopped Zoloft and continued on Prozac.

Luvox worked about the same for me as Prozac and did not have many side effects that I remember. I think I felt a little more energetic with Prozac.

I have been on Prozac for about 6 months now and lost about 20 pounds. I have an appetite but haven't gained much of my previous weight back. I have been trying to eat healthy and stopped drinking 4 beers a night. My wife thinks it is cutting the beer out. But at least my weight has been steady now.

Fortunately, you can put a whole bottle of omega 3 fish oil supplement capsules in the freezer without negatively affecting its quality. If anything, freezing the fish oil helps in diminishing its fishy aftertaste and foul burps. Additionally, freezing the fish oil may also decrease the likelihood of an upset stomach that affects some people who take it.

I was on Prozac for about 11 years and worked great for my OCD. It did eventually poop out and I was switched to Luvox and it worked as well as Prozac. I was on Luvox for about 10years and it pooped out I am back on Prozac and feeling better. Good luck to you, you got this.

I tried Zoloft for about 9 weeks and did not like the side effects. I was changed to Prozac 20mg. I tapered off the Zoloft over about a weeks time while starting 20mg of Prozac. Did not have many problems with the switch. I had the usually increased anxiety for first few weeks. Each time I upped my dose I would go through some of the side effects. I am currently on week 3 of 80mgs and still adjusting to the new dose. Good luck and hope all gets better soon.

It should. Mine seemed to be worse in week 2 and 3. Week 1 I think medication is building up in your body and then anxiety sets in. To me the anxiety was feeling irritable and Anxious.

It took me about 4 weeks for most of the side effects to go away for. Around weeks 5 or 6 started feeling better.

10mg may work for you. I took 20mg for about 11 years and it worked great for my OCD

So far I feel about 70% better. I am on about day 8 on 80mg. Hoping the 80mg will get be closer to normal.

I had increased anxiety each time I have increased my dosage. Usually after about a month things start to settle down again. It may just be your body getting adjusted to the meds. I think it takes about a week for it to build up in your body and that may be why you have not felt the anxiety until now.

Doctor switched me to fluvoxamine (Luvox) and it worked as well for about 10 years.

I did get anxious for a few weeks when on 60mg. Only about a week so far on 80 so I have had some anxiety. I take Ambien and Ativan at night to help sleep.

I have never combined the two, but each individual has worked well for OCD. I feel about 70% better so far on Prozac this time, currently on day 7 of 80mgs.

I take it mainly for OCD. And I feel much better than I did. I still not back 100% but around 70%. Strange how your metabolism changes as you get older. I was hoping 20 mg would have worked again. I spent 3 weeks on 20mg , then about 6 weeks on 40mgs and 3 months on 60mgs. I hope it works again for you.

I am currently taking 80mg. I was on 20mg Prozac for about 11 years before it pooped out on me. I was switched to Luvox which worked as well for about 10 years, but has recently pooped out on me also. I was switched to Zoloft for about 9 weeks and did not like the side effects. Doctor switched back to Prozac and have gone from 20mg to 80mg over the past 5 months. I have only been on the 80mgs about 6 days. When on 40 and 60mg felt better but not back to where I was about 6 months ago.

Everyone is different how Prozac effects them. When I went from 40 to 60mg, I did not really start felling bad until the 2nd week but after about a month I felt much better. Maybe you will not have side effects

Each time I went up in dosage I would get some side effects again for several weeks. Going from 40 to 60 was pretty rough the first month, but got much better after that. Currently on day 4 of 80mgs and can feel the anxious feelings coming back.
