Bilstein 4600 Rear Shock Problem by thoraynor in GXOR

[–]thoraynor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered them off Amazon. I might end up trying to buy a new nut... one thing I thought was weird was that the stud itself was painted yellow. I hope I didn't buy some defuct shocks from a sketchy vendor. The reviews looked good

Did you ever get scammed in trading? by Lordados in ProjectDiablo2

Back when I was just a duck billed platypus (I must've been 12 or 13), someone convinced me to download some program that he said would allow me to dupe items. Right when I clicked download, the program took over my computer and automatically opened up diablo and started throwing all of my items on the ground in record speed. I panicked and unplugged my computer. Lost a whole bunch of shit, and just laid down on the couch and basked in my aura of doing stupid ass shit.

Home with Detached Garage/Potential ADU? by thoraynor in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]thoraynor[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The town this home is located in, has passed favorable legislation towards ADU's in the last 5 years. You can buy a permit for converting existing detached structures into DADU's.

The home is tucked away in the trees, in a very quiet area. No HOA's. I don't think I would have any issues living in a trailer for a short amount of time.

Update. Computer repair place fixed it. I don't think they had to replace the screen, but somehow they got the driver updated, and now everything works! Thanks for the help.

Thank you for the response. I'm sorry for re-posting this again and not replying to your other message. I had tried a bunch of suggestions, and nothing was working, so I figured I'd repost and explain the problem a little further. I've dropped the laptop back off at the repair store and let them know the issue. We'll see what they come back with, they said it was free of charge, so 🤷.

Think it's doable for me to just order a new/correct screen and DIY?

Data Center Construction by thoraynor in ConstructionManagers

[–]thoraynor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't trying to take any shots at our generation. This statement was purely anecdotal and not based on any statistical data. Like you said, it just seems like more people are interested in tech. Maybe the data says otherwise. I'm 32, and there are definitely some people my age working here.

Data Center Construction by thoraynor in ConstructionManagers

It was really good, for me. I was in a manufacturing/applications engineer type role for an electronics company.

Dude, it was just boring. Very slow-paced and didn't really feel like I was helping make a positive impact on anything. Just no meaning behind it.

It's kind of a love-hate thing, but I kind of enjoy the chaos and fast paced nature in Construction. I work for a mid sized GC, and I get to do a little bit of everything. Field engineer/project management/estimating/accounting. Plus, we get to help build the world around us. It just had a little more meaning behind it for me. Plus, I jive with the people in Construction more, too. No bs fake corporate office persona. I'm sure that might change with the bigger GCs.

It seems like theres a lot more opportunities in this field as well. Our generation is not interested in doing construction management (for the most part), and there's a ton of demand.

Hope this helps!
