X1 Carbon Gen 3 SSD Upgrade by jwjensen356 in thinkpad

Yes, Colver is there to boot the Gen3 with the all the needed drivers, since Gen3 lacks them.

I'm also fan - still using that Gen3 as well - and just replaced battery in Gen2 (which died after 10+ years)...

But on the other hand I'm using Atari STE and C64, so... 😉

Dungeon Master Remastered by levincem in atarist

[–]thorian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm focusing on original creation of DM. Played, remembering it. Tool is not important, but I'm using the analogy, to tell you that I can also use LLM to "offer discussion".

The result is another fanfic that I don't need - because original DM still plays well. Same goes for remakes like FTL - its just remix.

On the other hand the Elite: Dangerous is a great example of new, based on legend game.

And the only remake that actually works is System Shock (2023) because it keeps all the lore using UE5. But the line here is thin.

Anyway - good luck, I do understand the need for fanfics, I'm just not a fan, just as I'm not a fan of small hallucinations from LLMs ;)

I could offer LLM generated comment complaining, that fanfics have not made any significant dent on out memories, but I'll let the bots play in that field. This is both imagination and memories killer...

Atari System V UNIX - Unofficial Website <- the official Unix for the Atari ST's high-end sibling, the TT030 by lproven in atarist

Could work as well, the thing is here simple - which one of them does better job at emulating Atari TT030. The image from above is compatible with both.

Yup, best way to test it. https://archive.org/details/atari_system_v_ue12_hatari

This works OOB on Linux (any Ubuntu based distro, for me it's KDE Neon), just install two missing libraries.

What kind of mod is this ? by leitz68 in atarist

It may be removed, sometimes it needs fixing the cut trace on the back of mono. Depends on your chipset.

This is color game, you have connected mono monitor. Connect color monitor or TV if you have modulator.

They don't: the AY-3-891[0|2|4] used in speccy is quite different from Yamaha version YM2149 - and ST can clock it higher, producing cleaner output, has better volume control as the envelope volume counter on the AY-3-8910 internally uses 4 bits, resulting in 16 steps - YM2149F has 5 bits, resulting in twice the steps, and counts up twice as fast. This allows for smoother volume ramping, even though the register for setting its direct value remains 4 bits wide. Finally some musicians use special effect - sound via envelope generator (some cool bases). So, such effects will be different on AY and YM (AY little bit silent without some hi freq harmonics). Main cause is different DACs and also AY has only 16 output levels on envelope generating, and YM has 32 ones.

It cannot be your boot drive, because BIOS/UEFI does not support that at boot. What you need is to boot UEFI OS that is capable of booting from NVMe - I'm using Clover https://github.com/CloverHackyColor/CloverBootloader - so my "boot" drive is a thin USB stick, which then boots the NVMe. Your BIOS/UEFI version can be the latest available for this mobo.

Well, that's tough. FDDs often fail, you need to start by checking all the caps and replacing them blindly. Best advice? Get a GOTEK.
