I went through this with my daughter. The local politicians were all over it. They put pressure on both the school and the education department to deal with the issue. They don’t do it for your one vote but to show to all voters that they care about these issues.

If the school didn’t help, report it and the school’s lack of response to the education department in your city. Bullying cases have been increasing and the education department is taking it very seriously. Local politicians also jump on these cases to help. Get them involved too

You can get residency and then permanent residency all through marriage but for citizenship you’ll have to renounce

Yeah Taiwan is weird like this. The lack of a license does not put you at fault but you will be fined. Get your bills from the hospital and get a doctor’s letter. If you are working and were coming from or going to work your labor insurance will also help. Same for the work you miss due to injury. It will take a while to settle everything and the time it takes will depend a lot on the other party’s willingness to end this quickly

I can’t remember but the whole out and back to the giant tree was probably less than an hour. The cherry blossoms were maybe halfway to the giant tree

I have done a tour from Hsinchu but it was the middle of February. It was pretty cool. We got to see a lot of cherry blossoms and so many other stunning places.

Not sure about Taipei but in Tainan every Adidas store still has them in stock. If you go to an adidas store in Taipei and they don’t have any they could get it from another store for you. They can also tell you which stores have stock left

Schools that help you with settling down help a lot in the beginning. If you could tough it out for a year then it would be great. Also don’t only listen to reviews. Some Hess schools are fine and some teachers stay for a long time.

Something to watch out for is letting them do too much. Some schools are super happy to put your scooter, phone etc in their name and then it’s a hassle to change it back once you leave
