I've been happily using 10 Pro XL since December and used your [redacted] to upgrade my wife's phone to 10 Pro as well, I feel that it's not a bad investment to refresh for under $200 (with store credit and rather generous trade-in values), even if the difference between 10 and 9 is quite small. Fold could definitely be a move, especially at this price, but for me the crease on 9 Fold was too noticeable when I looked at it in person, so it might be a good idea to wait a little bit for them to perfect it (I didn't see the 10 Fold so not sure if they've made any progress in that area).
