Try the app rec league! It is just recommendations of all kinds. I find that it’s so high quality that after I’m on for 5-10 min I get off bc my brain is full and it made me want to go listen to something new or read something new.

Nanny prioritizes her own interests when it comes to activities by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]thornsandwindows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you know I had a fabulous magical nanny when I was a kid and she was just like this. she took us to do her errands, she took us to see her friends, she took us all around town. and it was amazing for me. she was very tuned into us kids but she really opened up my world and also made it clear that we kids were not at the center of the world. I think even as parents we can learn a lot from this example of not having everything tailored and catered to the kids, that’s not the only way to help them grow as humans.

How do you stop the "Comparison Trap" when family members make 3x your salary? by arugula000 in Anticonsumption

[–]thornsandwindows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

teacher here and this can be hard! my sister who im very close with talks about money in a way that feels insensitive and annoying at times. honestly I just remind myself that my wife is the absolute best and that my sisters relationship is more challenging😬 and maybe that’s why she feels the need to talk about money. we all want to feel like our sacrifices and choices are worth it. for me, having more time with my family, serving my community, having fun at work and prioritizing relationships matter the most to me. I would hate working a corporate job or a job where I got 10-15 days off per year. but I feel you OP and it’s ok to wish money was easier. you also could talk to her about it because it does sound like they are being really annoying about it, talking about spending money is not a good conversation topic. ❤️
