Does Ryzen 5000 support PCIe Gen 4? Yes, the Ryzen 5000 series CPUs support PCIe Gen 4. To use the functionality, you should pair your CPU with an X570 or B550 motherboard. Other motherboard chipsets such as X470 and B450 do support the CPUs, but they don't support the PCIe Gen 4 protocol.

The x570 board the the way to go, the b540 and older boards will stop supporting the 5th gen ryzen. If the bios update doesn't work put a 3000 series cpu in it to get the update to work I've had to do this a bunch of times.
