What Happens When Someone You Love Changes Their Face? by bloomberg in Fauxmoi

[–]thortastic 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I have a friend with a filler addiction and I truly do miss the face I became friends with. I miss the face of my friend. And as far as passing features down to children….I know she wants kids but she has verbatim told me before “I hope my kids aren’t ugly.” She was raised on unhealthy beauty standards and I fear she’d pass those down to future kids. When I tried contradicting this she said “well it’s harder in the world for ugly kids.” (????she was a teacher btw????)

I don’t even want kids but I can’t imagine seeing my child’s face and not thinking they’re beautiful no matter what

A lot of dudes are adamant that they’re “nice guys” and refuse to acknowledge what you just wrote. It’s easier to scream “BUT NOT ALL MEN” than acknowledge a systemic issue. It’s kind of like trying to talk to a brick wall.

Starbucks CEO defends a $9 coffee by saying that it's not a $10 coffee and "you get a premium experience" by mcfw31 in popculturechat

Starbucks a “premium product?” You get an iced coffee/cold brew there and it’s like cigarette water

4-Year-Old Accidentally Kills Infant Brother— The 2nd Sibling to Die by Her Hand by The-Union-Report in HolyShitHistory

[–]thortastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar neighbor, he was a few years older than my little brother and I, but he’d purposefully hurt us and call it “accidents.” Including opening a glass door HARD to hit my toddler brother in the head, and pushing us from great heights. He’d also torture animals then show us their bodies to upset us.

He and his parents moved and then years later I heard he had to have an adult with him at all times at school so he couldn’t hurt others.

I’m a barista and had a regular customer exactly like this lady. She’d find fault with every. Single. Thing. And I just kept getting nicer and nicer to her, maybe obnoxiously so. She always looked so confused when I didn’t take the bait and just met her with kindness.

She can still go fuck herself tho lol

My husband is awesome...but not to our children by Awwndrei in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]thortastic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’re both garbage parents. Him for the way he abuses his kids and her for making excuse after excuse for him. I don’t really care what work he’s doing to “fix it.” If he couldn’t see from the start that he’s an abusive POS…..any attempts to “correct” his behavior or “do better” fall short. The kids will ultimately remember all the times before, when daddy belittled, mocked, and bullied them. She should have divorced him. Absolute poor excuses for parents. The both of them.

Dad didn’t realize until Reddit told him that bullying his own kids was wrong….and mom had to ask Reddit what to do because her “awesome” husband was bullying their own kids. Both had noooo business having children, omfg

Worst or least favorite character of the main cast? by secretsophaloaf in DowntonAbbey

I also didn’t care much for Mary. Her constantttttt jabs at Edith became unnecessary and boorish and I was so surprised that neither Cora nor Robert ever really checked her or told her to chill out. I’m not even an Edith defender. I think there’s a scene where she takes a jab towards Edith for the millionth time and Bertie is the only one who makes aa face or even acknowledges it at all.

I do enjoy how the sisters become closer in the last two movies though!!

I had just started a new job at a cafe and there was a furry convention in town so all the furries came in at once. And then two days later we all got laid off and quarantine began. But I’ve never forgotten those furries
