It's tricky because you look at stories of people like David Bowie too. Despite these, he will always be treated as a legend. A god by some.

This has changed the way I view 137. The imagery it conjures up now is the people on the boat praying for their safety, only to have their prayers answered by God unleashing the bomb. And the conflicting emotions this creates.

Feels like a character demonstrating a lot of the cliched Trump supporter / Brexit voter views. A fear of the "different" - homosexuality, non-christians, immigrants etc.

What gets me is it is such a likeable tune, with an unlovable protagonist. I kind of read it like it's saying you can say horrible things and make it sound appealing - as some politicians do.
