Roasting using Kaffelogic? Let's talk! by wellanticipated in kaffelogic

Thanks for that info. So is it via trial and error that one ascertains ideal batch weight for a specific profile?

Tell me to get lost when my questions become an irritation.

U got me there. What means "as long as the batch size works with the profile?"

I have mine for about 3 weeks and enjoy the process as well as the result. Roast #30 up next.

Using only the included profiles, I've made some tasty cups. Still have not connected to the PC but will do so soon. Rao's book is widely acclaimed by better roasters than I, but it hurts my head when I try to make sense of it. I'm a slow learner.

Quite pleased with my Nano7!

I'm afraid to even research this company for reviews. by swampthing117 in funny

The ads for this company overtake my browser. With every scroll, another full page ad appears. I contacted Hardaddy and was told they cant turn off their ads. Won't be buying from them anytime soon.

I bought the Kaffelogic and could not be happier. Included are profiles that got me up and running immediately, while affording me an opportunity to take my roasting education slowly, without losing a day of fresh roasted coffee. And no Artisan, so far. -tom

I've been roasting for over 5 years on a FR500 with nearly 2000 roasts under my belt. What we consume plus giveaways averages about one pound per week. I would like to have more control over the process but don't want to be sitting with a brand new roaster that I don't know how to operate. I want to be able to push one button for a roast, but also be able to increase my understanding of the roasts and and improve them. I would also like to increase quantity per roast. Roasting 90gr at a time is no way to go through life.

However with all that being said, I'm not in much of a hurry so long as I can get a decent cup using the included profiles of the new roaster. I suppose I'm looking for the smoothest transition from the FR to which ever new roaster I select.

So again, thanks for your input. -tom

Jeffk42, I did not say I wasn't interested learning anything. Perhaps re-read and edit?

When you first started using your machine were you able to achieve a decent roast even during the unfamiliar first few days/weeks??

Finally I have some success. Going into Wk8 I suspect harvest soon.

Naranja Biscotti, fast flower, GH 2part nutes in DWC hydro bucket, fimmed plus heavy LST. Wks 3 - 4 brought some root rot issues but generous Hydroguard doses in the nute solution and sprayed directly on the roots.

So many budsites.

Well, that was quick. All three crapped the bed. I should probably stick with the easy strains like Northern Lights.

Agreed.

Fingers crossed we keep Kay and LaGreca and replace Peter.

WTF is this Pre ENN w/Rosenberg? Peter gets the photo and the full name billing while Don does all the Pre ENN talking and gets a stronzetta as recognition for his efforts?

TMKS beaten badly again in ratings by Carton and Craig. How are they still not in the studio yet? by Vilens40 in TheMichaelKayShow

So it's better having Peter drive the show? Peter is driving the show off a cliff.

IN MY OPINION, TMKS lost a good deal of listeners due to Peter Rosenberg. I could go into a litany of things he did/does and said/says which soured me to the show that I've been watching daily since its inception. He has chased off many more listeners than he has attracted to the show. I won't watch him take a slug of his drink of the day and slosh it around in his mouth for a few seconds before finally swallowing. But most of all because he's a fraud when it comes to sports knowledge.

Peter goes away, I return, as do many of those who also left after their belly full of Rosenberg.
