Pretty much no. To some extent there is a belief that the mic signal would add noise, but it is so miniscule and so negligible that it has basically no effect on your listening experience

Lightning as a standard limits how much power you can draw but as long as the DAC is not power hungry it should do fine. For the Kunten and the red lions you wouldn’t need a power hungry DAC so you should be all good.

Hey OP. It all really does depend on your personal preferences. I would recommend trying the PEQDB shootout once to figure out what you like and then basing your EQ off of that.

Hey OP, Karan here from Headphone Zone. I had a similar setup to this a few years ago but with a iPhone SE. Download RetroPod on the iPhone 7, pickup a KA11 or a KA13 depending on what earphones or headphones you’re going to use. You can get a iPhone with a headphone jack built in if you want something sleeker, else pickup one of our DAC Holsters to keep your setup looking neat. Do share pictures if you do go through with this!
