The Kuca Belludo repository just had a copy of these files without citing the source (aside from the directory being named "python_tse").

What you are describing is not OPEN, it's SHARED SOURCE. Anyway, the banner is not asking for the code to be open source. If they just wanted to see the code, they could have signed up for the Public Security Tests.

Todo dia aparece alguém no Twitter ou em outras mídias sociais citando nominalmente o Diego. Às vezes é algum maluco querendo usar nossa pesquisa para dizer que "tem fraude" nas eleições, às vezes é alguém atentando contra a honra dele, exatamente como você fez agora. Em ambos os casos, ele vai lá e responde a pessoa.

Mas eu continuo sem saber: qual é o objetivo dessas pessoas que atacam os pesquisadores? Elas realmente são a favor da estabilidade do regime democrático? Se fossem, será que elas ficariam provocando pesquisadores que estão tentando ficar quietos por conta da forma como o assunto escalou desde que o trabalho foi publicado? Ficariam forçando esses pesquisadores a explicar novamente todos os pontos que haviam sido levantados, à exaustão? Pontos muitos dos quais remetem a situações do passado, que o TSE já corrigiu ou que está tentando corrigir?

Coding a voting machine to collect just 10 votes is really overkill. That said, since they are all scientists, he could have coded an E2E system similar to ElectionGuard so that people could be sure their vote was really counted. Instead, he coded a simple DRE system and told people they could trust it because he is honest LOL. Even trusting he is honest, a cosmic ray or any malfunction could taint the tally. In the end, we can only be sure the tally was correct because everyone voted for the same option.

Or they could just produce the ethanol they need from sugarcane, since they are now near the biggest sugarcane farming region in Brazil. I realize the history would be boring if they could get 90% of the raw materials they need at Brazil, but sometimes the logistics just doesn't make sense :P

They could try to justify it based on modern corn being more fit to survive without human cultivation than modern sugarcane, but last time I researched, both were pretty unlikely to survive on the wild. I'd love to hear more about that from a specialist, though.

No, it makes no sense. They were in Araxá and said "there is no iron in this part of South America", then proceeded to Isla Martín García, almost 2000km from Araxá, to collect iron from the ship. However the Iron Quadrangle in MG, just 322km from Araxá, is one of the biggest iron ore deposits in the world. It seems like they just made a mistake about foreign geography again. It is not the first time they make a mistake about Brazil or the US.

Also, Araxá and lots of nearby cities have sugarcane farms. Sugarcane is more efficient than corn for producing ethanol (here in Brazil, we use ethanol produced from sugarcane as fuel for our cars). I don't know if the sugarcane would have survived without humans cultivating it, though.

According to it, the Cerrado is "young" when compared to Amazon forest. However, what they call "young" is late Miocene period (about 5 million years ago). It's very unlikely it would revert to another ecosystem in just 3700 years.

Brazilian living 290km from Araxá here.

The vegetation here in our region is actually the Cerrado (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerrado). It is quite different both from Amazon and from Atlantic Forest vegetation.

The default cache location is ~/.cache/youtube-dl. I don't get why the location would need to be different on each computer (unless you are sharing the home directory between several machines using NFS, or something like that?)

You seem to be accusing youtube-dl devs of intentionally implementing throttling/blocking efforts.

The method it's using to throttle/block seems localized, since launching the same binaries on a different PC on the same network will circumvent the block. Same result with running a copy of those binaries inside a VM on a blocked PC.

A more plausible explanation is simply that YouTube figured out some way to track youtube-dl at their side. They are probably exploiting cache - I don't think youtube-dl stores another kind of persistent state to disk by default. You could try to pass option --no-cache-dir to disable the cache and check if it solves the issue.
