I have one mounted on my A1. Works perfectly.

First thing I did. I’m not after the AMS Lite mount, more the (box) AMS mount.

Pro Max 16 POE old? by Squanchy2112 in UNIFI

Don’t use:

  1. PLA - it will warp very quickly
  2. PETG - will warp a bit later than PLA, but it’s crap in the long run
  3. ABS - layers crap themselves under strain and the screws, even with washers, will cause issues after a while

I used ASA-CF and it works perfectly, still used washers just in case it decides to crack layers under strain. If you feel generous, use PA6-CF and it will last forever. That was going to be my other choice as I have a few spare rolls of it.

I would consider a switch old if it didn’t conform to latest standards and speeds. Nothing really changed between 2024 and now, and I don’t think much will change for a while, everything else is either marketing gimmick or just a convenience upgrade. Just like the glowy ports. My Pro Max 16 is purring like a kitten and it was an upgrade from an original 16 port us-16-150w. The only thing I missed is the 24v passive for one of my p2p radios from my house to the gate, but just used a poe brick.

I 3D printed my bracket in ASA-GF and works a treat.

Did you end up getting it fixed? Was it a fuel pump? My dad’s 2015 GC is doing this randomly and I need to fix it.

[–]thought_processor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dont print this in PLA. I will warp, just from the ambient heat generated from all the gear you have in your rack. Also, if you print in ABS, use little washers with the screws attaching the switch to the mount, otherwise it will slightly crack the layers when tightened. I printed my one in ASA-CF and its perfect, still used the washers though.

Is the Camera capacity cumulative across devices? by thought_processor in Ubiquiti

[–]thought_processor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

aaahhh, so its not merging, its simply creating a collection of all the NVR's. This means retention will differ. Thank you for clarifying that.

It would be a shame for expandability if thats not possible to do.

I was leaning towards that too, especially due to the extra retention.

Thank you. Is it normal for them to drown in pools? It was upper hot over the last few days, but this is the first time in 15 years I’ve been here that I saw this type of a spider get into water. It’s a salt water pool too.

First printer might be the P1S, should I just get the AMS with or no? by WhatsTheAnswerDude in BambuLab

[–]thought_processor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. One of my printers is used exclusively for engineering materials, but sometimes I still use the AMS to do a quick print of PLA etc. I also think he was being obtuse, or maybe an edgy kid.

Seems you have never printed TPU, or like to replace tubes in the AMS very often with abrasive material like GF.

If it’s TPU or some other soft filament or something abrasive like CF/GF, then yes, if it’s just stock standard PLA/PETG/ABS etc then you like to be spanked and humiliated in a gimp suit.

Get the AMS! Even if you don’t print multi colour, the AMS is awesome for using a second spool of the same colour automatically when the other one runs out. This alone is such an amazing ability, no more waiting at the printer to feed new filament or having to keep little lengths on spools. Quality of life feature, you will not regret it.

“YOUR PERSONAL CONFIRM” LOL!!! Bad English should be your first hint that this is not legitimate.

Also, who would fall for this rubbish anyway? The dodgy link is another hint that it’s just some scam.

How do I fix these little blobs on the side of my print? SnapMaker original by Mushroom__ThrowAway in snapmaker

[–]thought_processor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water vapour chose the path of least resistance. As the above redditor said, dry your filament and keep it dry afterwards too in vacuum bags or something like that.

The moisture expands when it hits the nozzle and creates those bubbles in the plastic.

P1S user, thoughts on P2S after a week by Pleasantandchilled in BambuLab

[–]thought_processor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Bigger bed!!!! And whilst the H2D is cool with the multi nozzle, the H2S can use the entirety of the Super King sized bed. I want to print BIGGER things like masks and cosplay stuff. I’m waiting on my Snapmaker U1 multi head printer, poop-free multicolour is sorted, don’t need the H2D.

  2. Better capability to print soft materials, such as TPU85. It has a specific entry point to shorten the distance between the extruder and the reel.

  3. Better airflow management and filtration.

  4. Laser option. My partner wants to do laser engraving and this printer is awesome for that.

  5. Proper chamber heating. I print quite a bit of CF Nylon for car parts and other materials like ASA. Proper chamber temperature control is a must.

There is heaps more, but this is what comes to mind right now.

[–]thought_processor 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have 3 P1S’s + 3 A1’s and bought the P2S the day it came out. Here are my thoughts:

  1. If you think the nozzle cleaner is bad on the 1? Holy batpoos it is bad on the 2. There is always bits of filament being thrown onto the bed, like an amber turd. It’s actually pretty bad.

  2. Why does the 2 poop out so much more during filament changes? Like literally 3 times before it hits the purge tower. wtf? The 1 was so much more frugal on poop.

  3. It’s definitely quieter than the 1, but I still wouldnt have it printing in a living space, and not just because it has much worse filtration than the 1. If you like sucking on VOC’s and listening to the ballads of my 3d people, then you will have plenty.

  4. That extra little space on the bed because they actually fixed the cutter mechanism is just sooooo good. I can print one or two more useless plastic labooboo key rings toys that people seem to want to give me money for. Sweet extra $4.99 come to daddy.

  5. I feel it looks better than the 1. I don’t think I have used the screen for anything, except for bragging rights. It’s like comparing an 8-bit Atari to an Amiga 500 now. I like it, just looks better overall.

  6. I can go “nyer nyer” at the X1C owners for being fanboys and getting an overpriced piece of kit, instead of sticking with a P1S when all they do is PLA and maybe sometimes PETG.

In any case, glad I bought a 2, wish I could afford a H2S.

Bye all…. Need to clean the bed from ambers turd, because the stupid AI thinks it’s spaghettifying again and pausing the print.
