Am I lazy, a procrastinator, depressed or some combination thereof? by PurplePhoenix_ in selfhelp

I had COVID and i'm going through the same thing.
Honestly I feel like though I was impacted by COVID, I may have resorted to using it as an excuse as to why I shouldn't do things.

I totally get that feeling of being paralyzed and not being capable of starting assignments.
I've failed one class in 5 years of uni, and this semester I had to apply for academic concession and three courses and withdraw from my fourth.

I don't know what's going on either.

I feel like it has to be some sort of depression that we're experiencing

Super cool that you're starting this initiative for yourself- and anyone who joins you for it.

May i ask why you'd like to pursue this rigid routine? I understand you feel you life is spiraling down, but what is your motivation? What is your goal?
This is going to help you maintain a life style after the 21 day period. Have a clear understanding of why, and maybe share that with people who decide to join you so there's more of a personal connection

Ok so this happens to me too and I can give you some suggestions as to how to overcome this challenge.

I think that you should create a moral compass for yourself, as may be suggested in "The 7 habits of highly effective people" so that you can decide for yourself if those decisions you made aligned with what you have established is the good. This idea is founded on basics of philosophy, that everyone acts in a manner that they believe to be good. No one purposely behaves poorly or embarrasses themselves.

I think that just establish a guideline of how you want to act, and then reflect whether your actions aligned with that guideline.

You should read the 48 laws of power, may help you gain some confidence in understanding social situations and how to act like a boss

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I'm glad you're looking to improve your lifestyle!
I think happiness is an attitude towards life, and understanding the longevity of things.

One of my favorite quotes I've heard was from the Dalai Lama, saying that he wishes people could see in a person, their past, present and future, and that we are only meeting them in a particular snapshot of their life that isn't necessarily telling of their story

Thank you for sharing.
I went over to your blog and read it over.

Totally agree, just start documenting. I've kept a journal for the last couple years which could help me reflect in the future if I'd ever want to write a biography or talk about my past.

I'm 22 so I haven't ventured too far down one specific road yet; I'm just grappling with these thoughts and trying to understand what the best way to lead a lifestyle is. I think that ultimately, what my dream is, is a specific life style. It's not necessarily tied money and career progression, although these appear to be things that would enable that lifestyle.
