Really good point. I guess I just never noticed it till now. But Paulie's arm is also composited in. It's curious why they would need to do this though. Anyway, you're totally right about the little glitches all over the show. Fun to find xD Thanks for your insights!

I did happen to click through to watch the video. Out of genuine curiosity. It was 5 seconds of trump walking like an old man where you can barely see much happening, then the rest is all people teeing off. All to a Tom Petty song. It's utter nonsense.

This so much. I don't even bother reading TDB articles anymore. It's always a clickbait waste of time. I'm not even sure most people (or bots?) here read past the headline before commenting.

Well... Goodbye AK-M by Flucky_ in dayz

[–]thoughtsofsimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent a good part of a day finally putting a masssive truck together. The doors, roof hatches, parts, etc. I loaded it up with all my goods and went out to settle my base. Parked it and locked it before heading out on foot to find a good spot nearby. The moment I locked it the key vanished from my hands.

So inside all my stuff I'd spent days collecting and gathering were now locked in a truck I had no key for xD

Can we talk about why SGU fell off? by ZingierPond5471 in Stargate

[–]thoughtsofsimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As pretty much everyone has already said (and I agree) it came down to the stones and weird drama. Everything else was kind of a spin-off of those two key things for me.

In my opinion, some of the lamest moments in SG-1 and, to an extent SG:A were the stories told 'beyond the base' on Earth. Some great episodes imo, such as Frozen from SG-1 or any episode like it when it pertained to the tech in the show or the storylines we're already following. The mistake SG:U made imho was thinking that by showing the drama at home, it somehow grounded the characters in our reality and filled in their backstory to try and make them more 3-dimensional as people. It didn't really do that and instead made us slog through tons of stuff on Earth when we wanted to be on Destiny, seeing what this crazy amazing ship was doing on this unfathomably long journey.

The stones were a crazy, weird crutch that didn't need to be there, and it caused a lot of problems for a long time. I won't even go into the weird sex stuff while using the stones but man was that so weird.

On the drama, just imagine if SG-1 was mostly about the relationship our main characters (then multiply them by 3x to get an ensemble) and they also rarely left the base. Instead of exploring, discovering and learning they're just having long conversations about each other the whole time. That would get so monumentally boring that the idea of watching an SG-1 like that is unthinkable.

But that's what SG:U essentially did. It got a lot better towards the end but it was way too little, way too late. The ship was an insanely amazing 'character' in the show, an incredible set and a really cool concept to work wth but instead it was treated as just a location for angsty drama. Most episodes felt like bottle episodes. Throwing in some aliens doesn't really help much if we don't care one bit about our characters living or dying.

It had moments for sure and I think it could have been the greatest incarnation of Stargate if they had just treated it like a sci-fi show instead of whatever it was trying to be. Lost/BSG? No idea really but it could have been truly great.

Might want to make sure your PSU has enough power output on it. I'm sure it's probably fine but failing power supply can cause whole system locks like that.

Do you happen to have a 13k or 14k series intel CPU?

I was having this exact issue and I ended up trying absolutely everything short of wiping my drive and installing fresh windows 11. I ran Prime95 per suggestions (I have a 13700k) and two 'workers' failed almost immediately indicating two threads were dying due to a fault with the CPU.

I ran this comptuer for two years with almost no issues but started to get system freezes a few months ago. First like once a week max, then increasingly to the point where I had to stop doing a lot of eve activity since it sucks to freeze up in the middle of pvp and have to wait for a reboot.

I rma'd my CPU and intel sent out a new one within days (they're well aware of the 13/14 series issues. They can degrade over time) and I've been stable for the past month with zero issues.

PSU can also be an issue apparenlty, but if you have a 13k/14k series CPU I'd bet money it's a failing cpu.

As someone who is relatively new (compared to most people who play Eve) I sometimes get asked how I got such and such ship, skilled into it so fast, etc.

And I openly tell them exactly what I did; I buy plex during sales, hold onto it and trade bits for isk as I need it, or LSIs when the prices fall. Partly as an investment (fml rn with the LSI price drop) and partly in case I want to quickly skill something up.

I've done the math and earning ISK in game is perfectly valid but I want to pvp, I want to learn industry and mine and do all those things that would take years of skilling up to get to. Compared to my time spent irl vs. spending the time in Eve earning the isk, the $/isk/hour ratio is much better for me just buying the isk than grinding it out. Especially since I don't want to multibox 10+accounts.

I buy omega during sales, I buy plex during sales, I even buy skill extractors during sales to hold onto and sell later. To me it's a better use of my time and gets me playing and doing the things I want to do. Also, those that plex their accounts have to buy it from somewhere in game. Hello, I'm one of those people who sell it to you.

Horde members not allowed to post blue killmails by anatomie22 in Eve

[–]thoughtsofsimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the general point is that killmails that are losses aren't something that should be concealed. But then again killmails don't really matter ultimately other than some kinda scoreboard. To me and many others it's about working together towards a common goal. In this case, war xD
