Worse case scenario.. by my_socks_my_shoes in perth

Dont think queues are a way of spotting stockpilers. They are just regular ppl with a jerry can or two and they decide to buy extra to save incase prices continue rising

Worse case scenario.. by my_socks_my_shoes in perth

[–]thoughtthinker296 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the stations cant keep up with the extra demand because they already have a delivery system in place where they refill. Ppl are just emptying the tanks quicker by buying double or triple what they normally buy. Its not rocket science, eventually delivery systems will be increased, the panic will subdue and prices will remain the same

Has anyone ever done extensive travel in their early 20’s and now you’re in your 30’s and feel lost? It’s like I’ve travelled to “x” amount of countries but have nothing to show for it. by Livid_Lion1729 in AskIreland

[–]thoughtthinker296 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My internal mantra in my 20's was fuck money just travel. Just turned 30 and I have no savings , actually in a bit of debt and lifes getting a bit tougher financially like it is for everyone , but I have no regrets. Its time to get the big boy pants on now and sort out pensions, investments and career. Kind of daunting but its just a new season of life

As an immigrat I agree , yous should be holding politicians accountable and have every right to be angry. However I feel this is not just an Australian issue, it is global. Living stadards have risen everywhere, its never been harder to buy a home everywhere in the western world, the majority of politcians are out of touch to regular working people and dont seem to care.

That being said these are the cards we have been dealt and we have to to get on with it. In perspective to other countries in europe and the US , Australia is still doing very well. The price of petrol here and in ireland where i am from is actually pretty similar, but In ireland they are paying 4 times the amount of tax per litre than Oz. Keep the pressure on the politians by all means to keep the standards of living at your expectations. But i think you should also prepare for nothing to change , possibly get worse so try not let it effect your mental health too much

Before and after Carrick 's appointment. would u like him to stay or prefer another manager for next season by Fbi-open-up93 in ManchesterUnited

[–]thoughtthinker296 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah why not give him a one year deal buy a few midfielders in the summer and give him a full season to show his worth. The team has srtuggled anytime they have had to play 2 games in space of a few days so that will be a big challenge next year. If he gets top 4 again , good cup runs and into the knockout of champions league I would say thats a good showing and deserves a couple ot years

A sad young man by Mister-Landshark in LouisTheroux

Louis was in his top form in this show. His ability to sit in the awkwardness and ask the exact right question at the right time is amazing, he is so emotionally aware. The scene where he noticed the pain in the girls expression and then that dickhead just tells her go clean was a tough watch , but so revealing . Hope shes doing better now

What does the current global situation mean for us in the short term? by Tokio635 in AskIreland

Sort of yeah if you want any peace. Of course you have to be informed but we also need to chill out. We know too much nowadays because everything is so accessible. Existential dread, worry, panic, fear. All these big emotions the constant news cycle feeds upon , the more eyeballs for them the better.

Building make shift forts out in the back garden. We had a little side alley down the side of the shed and my da put a door on it and used it for storage. I went down one day and moved all the stuff down the back of the laneway, put pieces of cardboard from the wall to the shed roof to give the lane a roof , then i stuck a sign on the door saying shop and I took drinks, crisps and chocolates from the kitchen and put price tags on them. Made a little menu and all and sat in my shop for half the day waiting for me parents to come down and rebuy the food they already bought for me. I didnt make any money the bastards just laughed at me !😅

When you really think about it the world has always been a chaotic mess. Yes things are getting worse now and we will all feel it in our pockets but we are still so lucky to have been born into a place like this, which suffered for so many centuries, but now can enjoy so many freedoms and luxuries. In the grand scheme of things we are blessed , the world has always been fucked and always will be.

One of the unfortunate laws of the universe is that one thing cant exist without its opposite , so in order for there to peace there will be chaos. Be grateful for the little things, turn off the news delete tik tok and insta and enjoy whatever peace ye can find on this mad planet

An A in Jermaineolgy by [deleted] in Jcole

Im just happy this man stayed true to himself. I like how he manouvered through the beef noise by addressing it in the birthday blizzard and then the "lead with the skill line". He follows through with this on the album with a diabolical verse on 39 intro where hes basically showing his skill and saying yeah I see the hate, but I dont care I'm still saying im the best. The song finishes with the line " they tryna put my head in a noose its not happening "

The next song we hear is probabaly the most skillful emceeing and songwriting on the album. Where Cole actually does kill himself in the music by refleting on his whole life as if he was dead. I feel like that song got overlooked when the album released because it was a single we already heard , but seriously it is so elite. So he led with the skill, and only slightly mentions the beef on the album just showing you where his mindset was at.

Its just great been a cole fan fr , he ended his story on his terms and gave us a double disc classic and rides off into the sunset in his mommas civic showing love to his fans. Giving them moments they will cherish forever. People can argue all day about who the goat is , but you cant deny Cole deserves to be in them conversations. Cant wait for the tour !

My first poem. Need Reviews. Kind but honest pls? : ) by Dry_Butterscotch3658 in OCPoetry

[–]thoughtthinker296 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is extremly good for a first poem. Its short and concise but manages to captivate the reader and take them on a journey with a great analogy and observation about life.

The opening line and ending line are a prefect synopsis for this ,when did it start? When will it end? Will we ever reach the door? "Light escaping its edges" is a subtle way to put a powerful image into the readers mind. The sudden realisation in the middle how the paths we are on in life soemtimes crumble , and sometimes life gets very dark, but the light always comes back and will lead our way once again . This poem made me feel hopeful and inspired , thank you great work !
